ESPN suspends Jemele Hill for social media ‘violation’

Strike 2, and she’s benched.

ESPN suspended Jemele Hill on Monday, the network announced, for two weeks “for a second violation of our social media guidelines.”

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz signaled that Hill’s offending tweet involved suggesting fans boycott Cowboys advertisers if they were upset Jerry Jones told his players they would stand for the national anthem or be benched.

  • Killer Marmot

Politics had the potential to rip sports leagues apart, financially and otherwise. Jones was right to insist that players not make political gestures while representing the team.

  • Norman_In_New_York

We don’t see this with baseball much because a significant number of players are foreigners.

    • deplorabledave

I’m amazed at the few blacks in baseball.

      • Norman_In_New_York

American blacks prefer football and basketball.

Fewer toxic North American blacks in baseball ⚾️.
In the NFL and NBA they are at critical mass and can do anything they want.
The segregationist were right all along it seems.

Perhaps the foreigners are better educated.

  • Not that I sympathize with Jemele, but don’t public figures realize by now that they can express their opinions anonymously and hence not draw their employers or sponsors into the fray? Although some people may believe that anonymity is dishonest, the advantage is that you can be judged purely on the merits of the opinion itself, irrespective of who you happen to be. It’s kind of like “blind review” but in a public forum. Unfortunately this lady was looking for attention, and she got it in spades

(some of you have probably guessed that “ricardojaime” is a pseudonym) 😉

    • DaninVan

The problem in that, Ricardo, is that she’s using her celebrity status to give her comment increased credibility. If she used a screen name who’d give a shit what she thought? (Don’t anyway, but that’s a different matter.)

Quote from Al Sharpton (as reported by Breitbart)…

“Al Sharpton on Jemele Hill Suspension: ‘We Won’t Stand for This’…”
        Good one, Al!

Cowboys fans should get together and burn down their own stadium.
    It’s the only way.
The NFL needs to die in a fire.

    • Slickfoot

Hold a free speech rally there, Antifa and BLM will burn it for you.

  • roccolore

As a black supremacist, Hill only got suspended.

  • Oracle9

Good old free market will sort this whole mess out.

  • Clausewitz

Ding, ding, ding, your fifteen minutes are up………..

  • Minicapt

She said about President Trump: “He is unqualified and unfit to be president.”
Jemele is very well qualified and suited to be an ESPN commentator.
