The Arctic IS melting! Read this:

The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

  • Sure taking them a long time to melt.

And in the 1890s they were pushing a new Ice Age approaching. (NYT’s cover IIRC.)

Strange warming apocalypses always happening in far away remote places inaccessible to the common herd. Thank goodness concerned governments are never stingy with the big dosh researchers must spend to reach these scary places.

  • Al Gore has some ‘splainin’ to do!

  • All the climate doomsayers say the computer modules show warming trends, but when all you input are warming trends of course they’ll result in rises. What about the Houston flooding from a hurricane in 1936? Otr the US heatwave way back in 1936? And the 1922 predictions of warming and Arctic Ice melting? Al Gore knows most people will not research into past records and almost never open a history book.

I was reading a book about the history of actic exploration, and the big problem the explorers faced was the fact that the ice conditions changed dramatically from year to year. One season they could get to a place that would be ice free, then the next they would go to the same place and he frozen in for the season. Arctic ice conditions have been changing from year to year for hundreds of years at least.

That and even with the change of temperatures, the Arctic climatic zone is still the Arctic climatic zone. So still no change in climate.

Just wait until people discover that a warmer arctic is better for everybody.

Year round ice free navigation from Churchill MB would be a great way to stick it to Eastern and Central Canada.

I just bought a vacation home on the Nunavit Riviera.

It’s true! It’s true! I have seen with my own eyes sea lions who were forced to leave the apparently near-boiling water at Fishermans Wharf in Monterey, CA. These poor animals were clustered together out of the water on the wharf, obviously seeking to escape an ocean driven to extreme temperatures by Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming Climate Change Climate Disruption.
