Harvey Weinstein and the Death of ‘Feminism’

You don’t need the Harvey Weinstein scandal to know that Hollywood is the world’s capital of do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do hypocrisy. You only need to be breathing.

From jetting the globe more frequently in private planes than most people go to the supermarket while inveighing against global warming to living in thirty million dollar homes and sending your kids to posh private schools while assailing school choice for the masses to, yes, making movies about sexual assault while assaulting females for decades in the privacy of their offices and swank hotel rooms, Hollywood has done it all!

Once we have been reduced to coolies, we can be treated and paid like coolies.

In Hollywood, Weinstein is the norm not an aberration and all those high moralled actors that lecture us know how corrupt it is but keep quiet for fear of being voted off the island. Pathetic

On one level you can blame feminism for this too.
If an ambitious woman could have a good career and make lots of money by having sex with an ugly guy once or twice, how many career women would say say “where do I sign up?”
75% or higher, and I think I’m being kind with a number so low.
What lower percentage of women would even marry such a guy whose sole positive attributes are money and power?
    The numbers are high.

Why did NOT ONE of these women come forward over the last 25-years?
Because it would be bad for their careers.
Why did they say something now?
Because Harvey Weinstein is washed up and hasn’t had a hit in ages.
Now coming forward will not hurt their careers.

I remember some years back that there was a TV comedy that poked fun at Hollywood’s culture. The producer at the center of the stories was as grubby as Weinstein. In one especially funny segment, he was showing a fledgling scriptwriter some Hollywood nightlife when they encountered Salma Hayek (playing herself) at a bar. As soon as the producer introduced the writer to her, she slapped the producer’s face. The dialogue went something like this.
The producer: “What was that for?”
Salma: “You made me take off my clothes when I auditioned in your office.”
The producer: “There are times when nudity is necessary to advance the storyline.”
Salma: “I was supposed to play a nun.”
The producer: “Well, nuns take showers, don’t they?”
She slapped his face again and walked off. Said the producer to the writer, “She’s got some ass on her.”

This is a nothing story. He’s a pig, the women are ambitious whores. At least Hugh Heffner paid them up front.
