Hyper-Premeditation: Search for Vegas Shooter’s Motive Just Got More Mysterious — and More Chilling

“Might this ‘mystery woman’ have been an accomplice? Or at least have some insight into his state of mind? I’ll leave you with this: Are investigators suppressing a political motive?

My guess is something is on that video. ISIS persistence in laying claim to Paddocks rampage may yet prove no idle boast.

I read (somewhere, but I do not recall where) that the shots were fired in a 10 minute period. That means if, he was the ONLY shooter, that he would have to fired a shot in JUST over a SECOND for around 600 seconds. About 595 people were injured on killed. Unless the people killed and injured were all in very, very close contact with each other, one shooter would not have been able to shoot so fast.

But, there is a LOT about this event that does not make sense.

    • I suspect they have uncovered a political motive but may be holding back in the hope of not tipping their hand to possible accomplices or for reasons unknown.

could well be – there is a lot to be explained

on the money again boss. 2 broken windows .. 2 shooters ..
        crossfire ..

        • lolwut? (Deplorable Hoser)

Second window doesn’t have to mean two shooters

Setting up more then one firing position is used to avoid return fire and create confusion about the source of the shots and trick the police into believing there is more then one shooter.

I just read that an AK can fire 10 rounds per second, so maybe one guy could have done it

      • Clausewitz

The rifles he used fire 850 rounds per minute. He had multiple weapons because continued use would have over heated the barrels.

Rate of fire can be few hundred a minute. The capacity of magazines and ability of the shooter to move from one weapon to another, that is an interesting question.

Also , he had time to shoot at gas tanks and the security guard.

“Paddock didn’t fire 360 rounds in 240 seconds because he had to stop
and change magazines…probably 30 round mags. That would be THIRTEEN
magazine changes in the 240 seconds.”

“To fire 500 aimed shoots and swap out magazines would have taken him
about 15-20 minutes, and there is no way that each shot would have hit
someone – more than likely would have missed.”

The videos of the shooting seem to indicate a fairly high rate of fire. 300 rounds a minute, I suppose.

    • terrence22

I guess it depends on what he was shooting, but lots of folks think there was more than one shooter – see mauser 98 links below.

Someone analyzed the rate of fire from the various videos and pointed out the rate of fire is way higher than a bump stock can manage and is an exact match for the the belt fed M240. The audio signature was correct for that weapon as well.

    no bump stock required

    ..a rubber band

    Bushmaster M4A1 AR-15 (rubberband trick)
