Judge tosses satanist’s lawsuit disputing ‘In God We Trust’
A rare win for Western Civilization.
Sign in some shops: “In God we trust; all others pay cash.”.
Expect them to be sued by Kenneth Mayle, citing that Satan is being discriminated against in these businesses offering credit to deities.
After all, he’s not expecting Satan to wiggle out of the fair exchange in his deal for Kenneth’s soul.
I would counter that the accusation assumes the actual existence of Satan and then by association the existence of God in which case Satan can appeal to the authority of God as a matter of jurisdiction.
Courts almost never rule on the existence of a deity; they pretty much can’t in the US as it would infringe the First Amendment, and for the same reason they avoid ruling on religious disputes between congregationalists.
So wouldn’t the second part of your statement(“they avoid ruling on religious disputes between congregationalists.”) apply here?
Well, Satan may indeed own a soul: Mr Mayle’s (and certainly a lot more than just his). 😉
Someone, somewhere in a far away land, a whiny white atheist whines, “there is no g-d!” and continues whining & virtue signalling.
