Outrage greets Mexican feminism panel with 11 participants – all of them male

When a pink flyer promoting a feminism conference at Mexico’s biggest university was posted on social media this week, it did not take long before people noticed something was amiss.

The lineup featured two panels with 11 participants – and all of them were male. It was, as one woman tweeted, the graphic description of “mansplaining”.

The lopsided lineup provoked outrage on Twitter, reigniting debate about the representation of women in Mexican society and the role of men in feminist movements in a deeply machista country where seven women are murdered every day.

“What’s next? A conference on racism with only white people?” asked another Twitter user.

Why not? If these two can be “Feminists”

Maybe they all identify as female?

One reason (of many) why Mexican immigrants are less than ideal…

Perhaps all the senoritas were busy writing their communist party acceptance exams. It is usually the case that only qualified trusted marxists are allowed to run or speak for the more important front groups. Mouthy low level feminists would not exactly fit that profile.

Also, fewer women on the panel means less emotive dramatics, fewer inflated claims and “statistics”, less hysteria etc. The panel may actually get something accomplished. Women are not accustomed to being expected to actually produce product/something/anything. Also, women lie a lot, especially to one another. This erodes the core moral character over time and makes women very comfortable with ambiguity – even moral ambiguity (abortion, for example) – and overly accommodating of the wrong things such as Islam, sharia, etc. in the name of diversity/inclusion/fairness/cookies/teddybears/rose-coloured glasses. You get the drift, I am sure………

Mexican feminism is an odd concept, especially after having been exposed to Mexican culture.
Does it mean that as a woman you get beat and raped LESS?
Then I guess I support it.

It’s a meaningless term in that culture.
‘Like trying to graft a citrus cutting onto a lizard.
