Gunman opens fire at country music festival near Mandalay Bay hotel in Vegas, 50+ Dead, 400 taken to hospitals

Update: NBC News has identified the shooter as 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock formerly of Mesquite Nevada. Las Vegas Police say dead now number over 50+. Twitter is saying shooter is named as “Steven Paddock” not Stephen…

Police in Las Vegas have confirmed more than 20 are dead, more than 100 are injured.

Officers said the gunman is a local resident and was shot dead. His name has not been released.

Police said they are hunting the suspect’s female companion Marylou Danley, who was travelling with the shooter.

She’s reported to be “Asian”.
