On the Collective Football Plantation

Quasi-socialism is one of the reasons that American football has not spread to the entire planet, as soccer did.

Most professional sports leagues in the U.S. are quasi-socialist enterprises within capitalist corporate America. Outwardly, the NFL looks like a successful corporation, but from within, this corporation has implemented principles of doing business that are alien to America.

I posted this comment on Cbc and it did not get approved.
If black Nfl stars really care why do they not give part of the pay to the inner city org’s.

I can’t wait until the NFL goes extinct or contracts to its natural size and state, which will be slightly more thought of than the WBA, which is not much.
    Continue going to Hell NFL!

If they really believed that their country is that horrible, then they would be moving to a different country. Not a single one has even a modicum of knowledge or understanding of the founding and history of their own country, but they seek to destroy it not even understanding that it will result in their own destruction.

Black Americans are the most privileged people in the world compared to Africa, Latin America and any other nation were blacks live. Black NFL players are the 1% of Blacks around the world. There are very few places in this world were they would have this opportunity.

One egregious abuse not mentioned in the article is the use of colleges as a farm system to groom up and coming pros without paying them one cent. (The NBA operates in the same manner.) The majority of college players never make it to the NFL and end up high and dry without employable skills.

Back in the time before idiocy, if you went to a sporting event, and an anthem was played, you would stand, even if you found the country that that anthem represented to be reprehensible.

I would bet that these players would stand in respect if “El Himno de Bayamo”, “Slav’sya, Otechestvo nashe svobodnoye!”, “Die Fahne hoch”, or “Dōngfāng Hóng”.

what would be useful, and easily accomplished is the removal of the anti-trust exemption, and not for profit status that the NFL enjoys.
