Federal judge rules Black Lives Matter can’t be sued

Black Lives Matter is a social movement, like the tea party or the civil rights movement, and therefore can’t be sued, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

A police officer anonymously sued Black Lives Matter and DeRay Mckesson, a prominent activist in the movement, after being injured by a rock thrown during a protest over a deadly police shooting in Baton Rouge last year.

It would be better to declare them an outlaw organization…

Let’s see if this gets appealed.

BS. blm is a domestic terrorist gang and should be dealt with accordingly. The judge is probably on soros’ payroll.

It’s OK to say kill cops. That’s not hate speech. That’s not inciting violence. If however you say mohamed was a sex crazed pedophile warlord, that my friends is hate speech. Don’t know bout all of you but i’m just bout ready to pull the plug. No more renewing licence, no renewing car insurance, no more filing tax returns. Filling out tax exemption forms for employers stating i have 15 dependents. Fuck the “ruling class”.
Why should I continue to contribute to this asinine government?

So for example if a group formed to “rob the rich and give it to the poor” or “beat up people as a form of healthy exercise” defines itself as a “social movement,” they are untouchable?
    Words trump deeds?
But what am I thinking, the whole SJW craze is based on that.

So, BLM appears to be above both criminal and civil law. What is left?

  • Manual Paleologos

The ruling seems to be about whom do you sue? BLM had not been identified as a discrete entity, but as a bunch of scum using the same name. The ruling essentially said “give me a name, and you can sue them.” I think the ruling may be factually and legally weak.

In similar prior cases, like the KKK, the organizations had a defined presence with a defined leadership, and perhaps more importantly, a fat bank account. I don’t think the plaintiff did his homework and identified those things for the BLM terrorists.

Then sue the leadership of BLM individually for the statements they have made on record. There’s a solution for every problem.
