Luther Strange Endorsement Is Just Latest Awful Advice Trump Received from Jared Kushner

To no one’s surprise, President Donald Trump is apparently “furious” over his woefully misguided decision to go all-in for Luther Strange in Alabama’s U.S. Senate primary.

Stupid son in law has to go.

It was a decision that blew spectacularly up in the president’s face last night with Strange’s massive 10-point loss to Roy Moore, an outsider much closer in spirit to Trumpism than establishment crony Strange.

In what is becoming a disturbing pattern, Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner was apparently one of those who advised the president to back Strange, to once again sail into big, jagged rocks — a humiliation for Trump that anyone with any real-world political sense should have (and did) seen coming from a mile away.

  • Cat-astrophe

I think it was a clever political move actually.
Strange was not going to win, but endorsing him shut up McConnell.

OK I never looked at it that way and am very skeptical but you may be right.

  • Ho Hum

I would not be surprised if Kushner doesn’t lead to Trump’s downfall. He is a huge liability as he tries to use his association with the President to arrange a desperately needed loan to bail out the corrupt Kushner family business. The recent revelation that Kushner used private email for White House business undercuts Trumps major attack on Clinton . Never again can Trump go after Clinton for her private email server without looking like a hypocrite .

    • Minicapt

Kushner use a private email account for official business during the period from Election Day to Inauguration Day; there was no “.gov” option available. After the Trump White House was established, his official emails were moved onto a government server IAW the rules which Hillary ignored.

“Jared Kushner had been a life-long Democrat, making major donations to its candidates for years”

    • Minicapt

The article no longer states that he he donated several million dollars to the Democrat party between 1993 and 2002 or so. In 1993 he was in Grade 6.

Will no one rid him of this troublesome son-in-law?

    • Alain

If Trump isn’t smart enough to know by now that both his daughter and son-in-law need to be removed, then he isn’t the savey businessman I once thought he was. He needs to separate family obligation from his job as president, and if he does not he is not the right person for the job.

Jared is lucky he didn’t screw up like this as a Clinton operative. He would have wound up committing suicide by shooting himself twice in the back of the head and throwing himself in a river like Vince Foster.

  • Dana Garcia

Wait, I thought Jared was pursuing Middle East peace — isn’t that keeping busy enough?

Alabama politics seems a bit out of his area of expertise anyway.

    • JoKeR

Don’t worry, Jared will put all the blame on Steve Bannon.

  • simus1

I would be more inclined to Trump “doing a solid” for McConnel in return for something he wants from him. The fact it didn’t work is no skin off Trump’s nose.

It’s what comes from taking political advice from a woman.
(Jared Kushner has apparently been registered as a woman voter for the last eight years)
