SJW teachers decide “Rebel” team name is racist

The teams have been called “the Rebel’s for more than half a century, but progressive educrats like Principal Paul Daignault have determined that “Rebel” is now a pejorative term.

will people ever develop a spine and tell these idiots, who make it up as they go, to get lost? Anyone left with a backbone in this country?

    • Maurice Miner

      Nope – cucks everywhere.

A product of OISE no doubt; where common sense and rational thought processes go to die.

    • andycanuck

Especially historically illiterate as well as it’s undoubtedly named for the Upper Canada 1837 rebels and pretty obviously not the Confederates or presumably the American rebels of 1776.

      • Clausewitz

Historical context is totally lost on the Left.

    • Norman_In_New_York

      Such stupidity.

  • Marius K

It’s about time. Rebel used to mean something, now any hipster can call himself a rebel.

  • Maurice Miner

What we need to do stat is ban all pejorative terms, or any terms that can have the slightest connection to pejorative raaacist thought.

I’m kinda thinking that “Wynne” could be seen as a pejorative term, as if there is a singular “winner”, then there must be many disaffected “losers”.

I wonder how far this could be advanced?

The Right should use the Left’s own words to take those words away from them (because that’s exactly what the Left has been doing for a while). How about “The Social Justice Fighters” or “PC Warriors”? I’d love to see the Left attack these names.

  • WalterBannon

so i guess that Kanye West’s suggested name for the team is off the table too???

    “The Georgetown Niggas”

  • simus1

Surprised aggressive male centred high school football teams are still permitted in GLLKDW’s glorious Ontariorea. While most team names in this wonderful sport do leave a lot to be desired, surely the “Georgetown Hign Jihadis” would be acceptable to all the co-parents and sjws who are stakeholders.

  • tom_billesley

Rebellion is as old as government.

  • canminuteman

You’d think someone who was smart enough to be a school principal would know what the word rebel meant. Of course maybe you don’t need to be that smart to be a school principal.

Missed altogether is the OUTRAGE of leaving the “Georgetown” part unchanged.

Who was this “George” anyway??? Why I believe he was a dead white guy, of the worst kind… a colonial master.

And they piffle on about “rebel?”
