The ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Lunacy

Donald Trump, much to his chagrin, never won an Emmy for The Apprentice, but he can now take indirect credit for a clutch of the awards. The Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale won eight Emmys on

Sunday night, a sweep fueled, in part, by the widely accepted belief in liberal America that the show tells us something about the Trump era. Based on the 1985 novel by Margaret Atwood, the series depicts a misogynist dystopia. Christian fundamentalists have established a theocracy that — after an environmental debacle craters the birth rate — forces fertile women, called handmaids, into sexual slavery.

I met someone that sees Atwood in the summer on Pelee Island.

Maybe the water needs further testing there.

It really is a pity that Margaret Atwood is too old and ugly to be kidnapped by Boko Haram.

I watched the first season and I noticed…the “bad” guys, tear down churches (to make people forget the past), don’t allow females to go to school, cloister fertile women (harem) for procreation with the powerful men of the society, force women to dress very modestly, kill anybody that opposes them, hunts down people who try to escape the society (and kills them), kills gays…Am I the only one who sees parallels with the Religion of Peace?

    • Oh my never say such a horrid thing again!

Nothing to see here, move along. I said MOVE ALONG!

Wow – a tiny glimmer of true in a mountain of lies: the depiction of the need to destroy churches who might oppose the oppression of women by a misogynist patriarchal religion.

Oh dear! You mustn’t speak such heresy. It’s only Christians that treat women badly. Just repent now and be spared a worse fate.

I mean, Margaret Atwood couldn’t possibly be wrong.

She’s okay when Muslms do it .

Oregon passed a law yesterday giving 100% free abortions to anyone and everyone

She wrote it about America during Reagan.

Women shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

I’m coming around to that viewpoint too. But I think there’s 0% chance of it happening.

Was the elevator pitch to the studio, “A Handmaid’s Tail will be like a documentary about modern life in Saudi Arabia, but it will be in English, set in America and will replace Islam with Extremist Christianity so as not to offend muslims.”

  • This rubbish paranoid tome (which is mandatory reading in schools) was vomited out to support a pro-abortionist’s delusion.

    That is its only function.

Leftists love it because it reinforces and embodies their ongoing efforts to detract from the fact that the most similar societies to the one depicted that exist in the real world are Islamic, not Christian.
