The Great Tune-Out

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer reappeared last night, of all places, on stage at the annual Emmy Awards. All smiles at this gathering of television celebrities, the former chief spokesperson for Donald Trump performed a variety of self-deprecating antics and mocked his own preposterous appearances before the lectern in the White House briefing room. In essence, he turned in a good-natured homage to his caricature as portrayed by Melissa McCarthy on Saturday Night Live. Those who don’t share Spicer’s politics were not amused.

The Washington Post rounded up a herd of shaken liberal influencers who were horrified to see the Emmy Awards “normalize” a former White House press secretary.

The pull of potential recognition and acceptance by popular mainstream culture must be irresistible.
They hate you, will always hate you, and so we must build separate institutions while marginalizing theirs.

How can they have low ratings? They gave numerous awards to “A Hands Maid Tale”, the most watched and famous series in television history Written by Margaret Atwood, the greatest writer on the planet. Or at least that is what the media keeps telling us.

    • bargogx1

Both the book and the show are ripe for parody, and it’s about time someone skewered them both.

I noticed they didn’t rant about China at all. I”m sure it has nothing to do with all the money that flows into Hollywood from China.

    • Drunk by Noon ✓

Where are all the “Free Tibet” protesters?
Has anyone heard from Richard Gere (or his career*) lately?
The Chinese seem to have shut him up.
Actually, that’s a cause the right (Alt and otherwise) should take up with vigor.
It drives the Chinese INSANE and that insanity will spill over onto pressure onto their controlled American subsidiaries in Hollywood and elsewhere.
They will be pressured (okay, forced) by their Chinese investors and paymasters to take DECIDEDLY unpopular causes.
If that can be exposed, highlighted, and exacerbated, then so much the better for our side.
I believe that we are seeing such illogically thought out moves by the recent surge of the glitterati suddenly supporting North Korea over the United States.
At first I thought that was just hatred of America by leftists but what if it’s directed by the ChiComs?
It would make sense, as North Korea is their alley.

Interesting how Liberals are still racists and bigots but as you see in this photo, this mocking is exactly like the Black Face minstrel show where they chose the NEGRO to parody .

Check out this Black Face by the Icon of the LBGT crowd because when a JEW man did Black face, he is now called a racist but when a women does it that the Hollywood Arts crowd love ……she praised and included in PRIDE parades by drag queens .

  • Did anyone know that “Star Trek” was on last night?

    • DaninVan

      Yeh; didn’t watch that either.
’47 Ronin’ was my poison of choice.

    • DMB

Hopefully not the new Discovery series which should have been renamed Star Trek: Titanic!

      • I wonder if that will sink.

        • DMB

At some point fans will get fed up with the massive deviation from the original story line particularly the completely redesigned look for the Klingon’s and say enough with it. This is not the Star Trek I grew up with!

          • Drunk by Noon ✓

I always hated the TNG Klingons.
            Completely unnecessary makeup.

          • I liked them.

No, I didn’t know that at all. If it’s any good I’ll get around to binge watching it in a few years.
I’m not trying to sound cool and edgy but I don’t think I have watched normal TV like a regular person in ages.

      • I’ll watch something that doesn’t insult my intelligence.

This show won’t cut it for me.
