Swamp Wins! Schumer, Pelosi say deal reached with Trump for DACA protections

The top House and Senate Democrats have announced agreement with President Donald Trump to protect certain immigrants brought illegally to this country as children — along with some border security enhancements.

The agreement would specifically not include Trump’s long-sought border wall. It would enshrine protections for the nearly 800,000 immigrants who benefited from a program created by former President Barack Obama that Trump has announced he is ending.

Face it the border wall is dead; there will be no border wall and much the same for the other promises Trump made. For all intents and purposes the Americans have a one party system. Calling themselves Democrats and Republicans is just to passify the masses. I am not gloating at all, since it is becoming more and more difficult to distinguish between parties.

    • Trump lied.

      • Maurice Miner

I hope not, but it becoming more and more apparent that his election policies didn’t quite match his encumbent policies.

      • Alain

I have no idea if he did or just did not have the will not to surrender. Still the result is the same.

        • Ho Hum

Hi lied lied during the campaign about opposing amnesty because it was a big applause line and he likes applause but he has always been soft on amnesty. In 2011 he proposed amnesty for DACA “kids” . It’s looking like Trump was a lying conman after-all. He has reversed almost everything he campaigned on. He must have a very low estimation of his voters if he thinks that they will not notice. Does he think his supporters are stupid?

For all intents and purposes the rule of law and the Constitution are dead in the US.

    • Trump lied. it’s that simple. I get the feeling he liked winning the Presidency more than being President and having to make hard choices. He is preparing his exit strategy.

      • Maurice Miner

Fuck, I hope you are wrong, BCF.

This is a disaster of unmanageable proportions.

McConnel, Ryan will wear it also
        Democrat congress 2018

        • Norman_In_New_York

If it weren’t for McConnell and Ryan, Trump wouldn’t have to deal with Pelosi and Schumer. As a businessman, Trump is results oriented and Republican congressional leaders have shown no interest in securing results.

          • mauser 98

            Trump is alone

GOP,D’s, some WH staff , media all have knives out

        • WalterBannon

how will that be any different?????

      • Gary

I wonder if Justin cut a deal as well so the 800,000 DACA children won’t pour across our border.
Maybe we will be taking in 300,000 illegals to make refugees claims IF they go to Mexico and board a plane to Canada since Justin ended the VISA rules for Mexico.
This year i heard John Tory declare Toronto a sanctuary city where illegals can get welfare and FREE Health care from Wynne.

Justin has already broken about 7 of the 10 promises in 2015. Why stop now and be honest for once.
He doesn’t have a heart for our Vets and Citizens and doesn’t have a brain to balance the Budget .

Remember the source of the Trump collapse meme is coming from Nancy (Botox on the Brain) Pelosi and Chuck You Schumer. We may be jumping to hasty conclusions.

  • k2

Would Cruz have done any better? Probably not – it seems they’re all the same. Why is it so damn impossible for politicians to keep their damn promises?

    • shasta

The penalties for failure are not severe enough; in fact there are no penalties for failure.

    • Alain

They all would have done the same including Cruz, but the difference is that only Trump promised something greatly needed to save the country. That in itself should generate enough anger for people to revolt.

  • Ego

I have been expecting this for a while.
I just want to know one thing: What happened to Trump that has turned him into his own worst enemy? Because a fallen idol will not just be given up on, but trampled on. A false angel is the devil.

He may have made the first mistakes right after he won the election by throwing Flynn to the wolves, and kept on making mistakes ever since (family and adversaries as advisors, dumping Bannon, the list is long). Many of his supporters are still desperately clinging to the hope that he is just playing 3D chess, because what they are seeing simply cannot be true.
But Trump seems to be proving that it can. And if this is true, what he is committing is way more than treason: he is robbing millions of the dream he seemed so committed to make come true. He is killing the faith people had in him. The result won’t simply be disillusioned people—they will turn on him for having cheated them.
He was America’s last chance to correct course, and he has not just failed but seems to be actually taking orders from those who want to sink the ship.

People a nation can pin its hopes on don’t come every year—it will take at least decades.
And by that time, it will already be too late.

    • Clausewitz

You really think that all of sudden the MSM are telling the truth? The propagandists never relent.

      • Ego

I hope you are right and I still have hopes, but the signs are not good.

    Fake News guys!
This was disavowed within minutes of being reported but unless you check the Twitter feeds for the White House, crickets from the news media.
    Wow!

    • Ho Hum

Whether this news is true or fake it is consistent with Trump’s previous comments re DACA – when he rescinded Obama’s executive order he gave congress six months to legalize DACA or he would “revisit it”. If he was serious about opposing amnesty he would have said he had his veto pen ready if congress tries to legalize DACA and yet he is encouraging congress.

        If it’s fake, it’s FAKE.

      • Clausewitz

DACA was never a law. It was not passed through congress. It was nothing more than a Royal decree passed down by King Obama. Laws are supposed to come from the Senate and House to be presented to the President for approval. In the real world the President is an influencer, not the creator of laws. Stop giving into the Obama rules of Royal assent.

  • Dana Garcia

When Trump pledged “No amnesty” during his campaign, there weren’t any exceptions mentioned in the fine print.

DACAs are taking jobs and college slots that should go to citizens, so the foreigners are not innocent waifs with no negative effect.

    • Dana Garcia

Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!…..— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 14, 2017

      • Clausewitz

If they came into the country illegally, why Yes, yes I do.

        • Dana Garcia

          Me too.

About 3/4 of DACAs are Mexicans, and Mexico is a very wealthy nation, #15 in GNP, not a backwater at all.
