Concern that wind turbines are polluting ground water

Industrial strength wind turbines are making a lot of people worried.

Installing those turbines means pile-driving massive steel beams into the bedrock.

The problem is that the bedrock is made of Kettle Point black shale and is known to contain uranium and arsenic. Vibration from the pile-driving breaks up this toxic shale below the groundwater and contaminates it. Area residents can’t drink, bathe, or wash their clothes because of this. Water wells are being poisoned as the government continues to allow the pile driving.

Call it pile-fracking and watch the expressions playing over the faces of econuts.

Won’t someone please think of the children!

    • Liberal Progressive

How dare you claim that our Liberal government did not know what it was doing. How else are we going to make room for all the refugees?

Another Wynne achievement! Who else could cause high hydro rates and polluted drinking water at the same time. But then who in downtown Toronto cares about rural Ontario anyway. Heather Mallick at the Toronto Star put it nicely, when she warned people not to venture outside Toronto, or you will be assaulted and raped by white men wearing baseball caps and white T shirts.

    • Alain

Trust me, dingbat Heather would be safe from rape other than by “refugee” of a certain cult.

  • Clausewitz

Ever notice that the vast majority of these wind farms are in conservative ridings in SW Ontario? She doesn’t care if she fucks up the health of conservatives, it’s her goal in life.

I think the brightest idea was Wynne wanting to build wind turbines next to the Collingwood airport. What could possibly go wrong?

    • DMB

In all of rural Ontario I would say the place that has the highest concentration of wind turbines is in Nanticoke in Norfolk country. Dozens upon dozens of wind turbines and even solar panels all over the place. This is largely due to it being Ontario’s most industrialized small town being home to an Ontario Power Generation Station and a Stelco division. The wind turbines have become a blight to that town with virtually no economic benefits to Nanticoke considering it looks so run down of a town compared to neighboring Port Dover.

where are the wires/cables from windmills.?..can see no routes for underground cables or connections to above ground towers, grid etc

        • DMB

In rural areas such as Nanticoke were the windmills are concentrated on farm fields the cables would be buried under the rural fields identified by special markers.

Every single overpass in Canada and the US has massive pile-driving steel beams driven into the bedrock.

    • Brett_McS

      It’s worse than we thought!

    • andycanuck

But they don’t continually vibrate unless Michael Moore is driving over them! (See my other comment on this thread, Ron.)

  • Brett_McS

Pile-driving mother Earth? They’re raping the planet!

OK I work in the patch and have argued with friends and relatives for years about fracking poisoning groundwater. All I have to say on this is show the proof, until then this MPP or whatever is just some fear mongering snake oil salesman. C’mon buddy quit yapping and show the proof.

    • Alain

You must be aware by now that no matter how much proof you present they will stick with their narrative, and applies to any leftist narrative.

      • Barry Thornton

Oh yes I am, but if I’m going to keep saying prove it to those I disagree with my side better be able to prove it too. I realize nothing will change the eco-warriors minds or those of the uninformed idiots that hang on every proclamation from the altar of green but I can always hope.

        • Alain

Of course you are right to keep challenging them.

  • andycanuck

I don’t know if the study is junk science or not, but it’s delicious to see Green concerns being used against windmills.

I thought they were food processors for flying geese.

Except killing those pooping-machines would be a public service but point taken on all the other species like eagles. :^)

          • andycanuck

Yeah, something like every 90 seconds I seem to recall reading.
