Bannon on 60 Minutes: DACA Will Spark GOP ‘Civil War’ if Republicans Cave

Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon warned this week that there will be a “civil war” in the Republican Party if GOP lawmakers cave on the repeal of an Obama-era program that gave amnesty to illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Tuesday that DACA — Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals — would be repealed with a six-month window for Congress to act. The move served to fulfill one of Trump’s signature campaign promises, but both Trump and Republican leadership have indicated a desire to “legalize DACA” as part of a broader immigration reform bill.

Well, I’m just kinda starting to think that President Trump doesn’t really want to rescind DACA at all.

At best, he is attempting to “wedge” the Democrats into supporting a GOP legislative initiative within the next six months – what will their trade-off be for bipartisan support? Will they support The Wall?

At worst, Trump is a sorry excuse for illegal-immigrant enabling elites.

    Either way, I’m becoming concerned…

He’s turning off his supporters – the people that voted for him.

I agree that Trump would welcome a face-saving compromise with Dems to get a DACA amnesty for the group he professes to Love at every opportunity.

Our favorite conservative commentators have been telling the sanctuary city people, “If you don’t like the immigration laws, change them.” Now Trump is giving Congress six months to do just that. At the least, the debate promises to be entertaining.

When it comes to DACA, President Trump is playing chess, while those who are trying to undermine his presidency are playing checkers.

By threatening to rescind Obama’s DACA Executive Order in six months Trump has put Congress in a difficult if not an impossible position of having to pass DACA legislation within a 6 month timeframe.

Further, those Republicans who openly support DACA will be lit up like a fourth of July fireworks display for all Trump supporters to see. These Republicans who are for giving away American jobs to DACA immigrants will face a challenge for the right to be their district’s Republican representative. Their duplicity will be front and centre for everyone to see and it will be recompensed accordingly.

Trump has put in place the means to identify these deplorable hating RINOs and he has put in place the mechanism to replace them with MAGA loving Republicans in future elections. Let’s hope he succeeds.

It may take some time to destroy the deep state. This is but the first serious volley. It will begin the process of reshaping the Republican Party. America will be for Americans first. In the end “Economic Nationalism” will win out and RINOs will be no more.
