Trudeau Issues Veiled Threat To Missouri Governor Over Super Hornet Contract

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is again suggesting he will abandon a plan to purchase 18 Super Hornets from Boeing, CBC News reports.

Trudeau called-up Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens to remind him Tuesday how important the aerospace industry is to the state for jobs as well and “the shared importance of the aerospace industry to both economies,” as a statement from the prime minister’s office put it. Boeing has its head office in St. Louis.

So let’s get this straight. Trudeau campaigns on cancelling the Lockheed-Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter deal the conservative government made, and local contractors lose out on lucrative contracts. He bailed out super-loser Bombardier (a Quebec-based company) with $1.5 billion tax payer dollars this year. And now he’s pulling a Fredo Corleone by threatening the Missouri Governor over the purchase of 18 Super Hornets. Good job, shiny pony. How many planes could we have bought with $1.5 billion dollars I wonder, rather than just giving that money to some Quebecrois cronies? Two or three would be my guess.

    • Justin is an asshole, a very stupid asshole, his entire political platform is one big jerk-off session.

its better that the Canadian govt continue to disarm itself, for the civil war coming in a couple generations

        • Exile1981

A couple of generations? I suspect I’ll see it in my lifetime.

Liberal caucus = circle jerk offs.

I agree with your post, and gave it a thumbs up.

A small nitpicky point: Fredo Corleone was the dufus oldest brother, who managed to do everything wrong in the Godfather pics he was in, before he was killed off. Did you mean Michael Corleone? Fredo’s character in the films was hilarious, loved the character.

LOL!!! Trudeau = dufus, works for me. 😀

Don’t worry Canada, little Justin is looking at buying used junk from Australia. Because buying used military equipment has always worked out so well for us in the past. Look at those wonderful submarines. Canada loves little Justin. Just look at the polls!

    • But they were on sale!

      • andycanuck

We would have been losing money not to have bought them!

      • dance…dancetotheradio

I don’t want our military in anything on sale.

  • Uncle Screwtape

My morning porridge is more threatening than this tool. You poor Canucks. What a wet noodle.

I’ve seen your cooking, and agree whole heartedly.

        They’ve seen worse at home.

Canada SHOULD completely abolish its armed forces, like mighty Iceland. Then abolish the police and the coast guard. No, really.

    • Justin is down with that.

    • J. C.

I’d go along with that. Then there’d be no one for Justin to send after us when we… *GASP* ….Defend ourselves!

  • Malcolm Y

I wonder why he does stuff like this – it doesn’t seem to gain him anything except attaboys from whom?

    • Marius K

It is about money and friends at Bombardier.

Boeing HQ is in St Louis? That will come as a shock in Chicago.
Speaking of Super Hornets – Trump announced in May that production will double at Boeing’s (formerly McDonnell Douglas) St Louis plant. Shiny Pony doesn’t seem to be aware that discarding his F-35 offset ace will have the same effect for Canadian industry as Cretien’s and papa’s defense machinations.

PERHAPS Justin Trudeau should stick to things he knows something about, such as Vanity Fair’s 2017 International Best-Dressed List, good on him for that, and then there’s that gender equality issue to fight for.as far as defense goes, Canada’s Southern border is secure and if there’s a real problem in Canada he can count on the U.S.A. for a 911 call! So stop calling and insulting U.S. State officials in makes you look petty and foolish. Just Sayin’
