Sympathetic Media Scrambles To Trot Out Shiny ‘Dreamers,’ But Forgets All The Nightmares

Since news broke of President Donald Trump’s plan to end the DACA amnesty for roughly 800,000 illegal immigrants, a sympathetic media has trotted out endless sob stories about so-called “Dreamers.”

The news coverage and criticism of Trump’s reported decision to end DACA has focused on the idea that they are children (many thousands are in their 30s) and are super-stars in their community in an attempt to justify blanket amnesty. To support their criticism, we’re offered an endless stream of anecdotal success stories.

DACAs steal jobs and college slots from American citizens — something all the whiney liberal do-gooders manage to forget. Laura Ingraham got it right this morning when even the normally conservative Fox & Friends were leaning amnesty.

      Laura was brilliant.

Yes yes they are all 12 year old Fullbright scholars and MacArthur Genius Grant awardees. Many of them if not all, go on to give inspiring TED talks.

See here’s the thing – DACA goes all the way up to age 30. So many of these people have children of their own. How many years do you have to be told you’re illegal before you can be expected to do something about it? 10 years? 20?

I don’t know what’s funnier – advocating that Federal law has a statute of limitations or selectively ignoring whichever laws you like. On the one hand, I suppose we could impose a limit on the years we can go back to prosecute any Federal law, from human trafficking to drugs, guns or even terrorism. I we don’t catch you by the time you’re 30, that’s on us. And on the other hand, let’s see how various states and localities selectively nullifying federal laws on whatever they like, from guns and drugs to the EPA, the FDA, labor law or anything else…..because they feel like it.

On his radio show, Howie Carr gives a daily stream of all the crimes committed by ‘dreamers’ that are either ignored by media or fall down the memory hole. It’s astounding really.
