Major Canadian union joins BDS

Canada’s largest private union, Unifor National, passed on Sunday a motion to join the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction movement (BDS), which looks to exert economic, academic and cultural pressure on Israel over the occupation and its role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

    Union equals communist equals anti-Semite.

  • Dave

    Ya lost me at “union”

  • Oracle9

Daily losing more and more faith in the intelligence of Canadians.

People like this will ensure Trudeau will have 8, maybe 12 years to take the country down.

Unions involved in cultural wars drive me crazy. Unions should be working for workers’ rights.

    • Alain

Then they would no longer be marxist fronts.

    • Clausewitz

I’ve long said that if Union Leaders want to play politics, they should quit their jobs in the Union and then run for office. I’ve made that suggestion to both my Union Leader in the OSSTF and the Wife’s leader at ETFO, and the silence was deafening.

    • Maggat

Any union that I belonged to DID NOT have the workers rights or interests at heart.
My last 35 years working was with a non union company. The cream rose to the top and the dross was out the door. The way it should be.

Figures, automaker union, big in Windsor, ON. Maybe Wynne is going to give them some money. I knew there was a reason I’ve been looking at the Mazda 3 and 6 to buy as my next car.

    • Alain

I had a Mazda pickup before changing to a Nissan pickup, and the Mazda never gave me problems. The only drawback was the lack of 4 wheel drive, so in winter that was a problem. My Nissan Frontier is larger and has 4 wheel drive, also an excellent vehicle. My neighbour also has a Mazda and loves it, so I think it would be a good choice.

        Good to know, thanks.

We have 3 Honda Civics in our family. Bullet proof.

      • Alain

Excellent cars and great resale value.

      • Linda1000

I will not buy a four cylinder car. They tend to groan and expire when trying to pass someone on a highway.

        • Clink9

Maybe the old VW Beetles or Chevrolet Chevettes.

          • Maggat

Lots of memories and stories to tell, thanks to my old ’66 Bug.

          • Clink9

Yep, mine was a 71 Super Beetle.

          • Maggat

I kept my ’66 till ’79 when I bought a brand new Rabbit diesel. Great little car and as all VWs preceding, had a lot of VW bugs. Every one a challenge and a a great pile of good memories.

How will this affect Israel’s economy? Inquiring minds need to know.

    • Alain

It is typical leftist marxist virtue signalling, about as significant as a bear’s fart in the woods.

    • David Murrell

Actually since the Jew-hating boycott began in earnest, Israel’s economy has grown fast. The boycott hasn’t done a thing. D. Murrell, Economics, UNB at Fredericton

  • simus1

unifor has an interesting family tree as do its “royalty”.

  • Nic

I hope they are provided with a full list of all the things they should avoid buying to boycott Israel effectively

  • Felicia Scott

More Canadian stupidity (totally endless). Unions are just a bully layer of communist brutality.
