Hollywood Plans All-Female Remake of ‘Lord of the Flies’.

It might even be the greatest thing since Ghostbusters 2016.

Lena Dunham as Piggy?

  • Brett_McS

Piggy was actually a nice character, at least in the original British version. Haven’t seen the American remake.

I looked up the actor who played Piggy and that was his only ever film role. He’s 6’3″ now.

    • Clink9

      He had a lovely conch.

  • john davis

    Sucks to your ass-mar.

  • terrence22

It will be a box office flop, but the virtue signalling will be worth it to hollywood

  • Barrington Minge

  • QiPo

Well, IF I were to see LD running around in jungle attire on the big screen, I’d sure be recycling my popcorn box as an air sickness bag!

  • Justin St.Denis

This is such a bad idea one has to wonder which masochist came up with it.

  • Exile1981

Let me guess all the women get along, there is no conflict and the build a utopia?

    • Sharkibark

      LOL that’s what I was thinking they’d do. 😀

    • Dave

I was thinking they’d be sitting around, not talking to each other.

      • Observer

I thought they would all be sitting around talking to each other about how it was all the fault of the patriarchal hegemony even though there were no men around.

    • Will Quest

They turn their islands into land of the Lesbos , and eat other raw …….

  • Spatchcocked

Lots of yoga….then fashioning curtains out of palm fronds…..coconut oil as an all purpose beauty aid…..a talking stick that doubles as a dildo….

It’s going to be BOFFO !

  • ontario john

And the pansies and leftists controlling Hollywood, wonder why the box office sales have been at their lowest level in 16 years.

    • Norman_In_New_York

Hollywood doesn’t give a damn about American audiences. It earns its profits from foreign sales.

      • ontario john

        Got to keep China happy!

  • Ego

Also looking forward to all-female Hollywood remakes of “Saving Private Ryan” and “The Naked and the Dead.” An all-female “Men in Black” would also be nice.
On the flip side, men are severely underrepresented in many Hollywood films, including one of their latest, “Served Like a Girl”—an all-male version is the least they could do to correct this gender-imbalance.

    • BillyHW

Where, I ask you, is The Godmother parts 1 and 2?

      • Clink9

        Hopefully sleeping with the fishes.

      • favill

        “Freda!!” You broke my heart!

      • Watchman

“Take another helping of the cannoli. Please.”

    • Watchman

I haven’t seen it yet, but I believe there is a alternate version of ‘Saving Private Ryan’ called ‘Shaving Ryan’s Privates’ that stars women. Haven’t seen it yet, but don’t think it stars Tom Hanks or has men outnumbering women.

I passionately loathe that bookl Iwould’ve been learnt more through PG Wodehouse or Dorthy Sayer. O actually i’ve read a lot of their respective series. So there

Ghostbusters 2016 was a disaster. Main reason being is women just arent really funny at least not as funny as men can be. Imagine an all female Three Stooges. It would be horrible to watch. Progressives just refuse to beleive there are differances between men and women. I mean, who would want to watch an all male Sex in the City? If they did, Id be throwing the remote at the screen within 60 seconds.

G16’s problem wasn’t lack of humour, it was lack of a straight man. Literally — every comedy needs a sympathetic foil character (like Dana Barrett was in the original) to give the comics somebody to play off of, contrast against, and set up the punchlines; think Margaret Dumont to the Marx Brothers, or Abbott to Costello.

If Chris Hemsworth’s Kevin character had been smart and competent, he could have played this role, but then they would have risked everyone wondering why the emotional story wasn’t between him and Kristen Wiig rather than the friendship between Wiig’s and McCarthy’s characters. The movie’s humour didn’t work not because women are unfunny but because they were so desperate to prove women could be funny by themselves that they forgot the basic principle of comedy: your setup and your context is as important as your punchline.

I read somewhere that a Dutch “last man standing” type of reality show had women on one island and men on the other…after a couple of weeks the men had erected a hut, had built seating, had rudimentary beds/hammocks, arranged a common area for the fire and cooking and were actively hunting, fishing and foraging for food. Whereas the on women’s island nothing had been done…and they ran out of food–but all the women had great tans. So, based on the reality show…all the rescue ship would find are a bunch of skeletons on the beach.

So it’s now ‘ Lord Of The Cries ‘ .

  • CoolTolerance

Another Hollywood ‘FLOP’ in the making. Well deserved.

  • PapayaSF

If they’re smart, they’ll make it dark comedy. It could be the most hilarious b!tchfest since The Women (written by a woman, by the way).

  • Oh, I’m sure that will work out.
