Reality check: Tyson is best known as a science presenter and does well to rehearse his arguments defending science from accusations of cultural appropriation.

Cultural appropriation is essential for sciences. All worthwhile cultures get appropriated and appear elsewhere in various forms. It’s called civilization. But some people don’t like civilization. Culture war is the most they can benefit from.
