Report: Trump Tells Aides He Has Decided to Remove Stephen Bannon

President Trump has told senior aides that he has decided to remove Stephen K. Bannon, the embattled White House chief strategist who helped Mr. Trump win the 2016 election, according to two administration officials briefed on the discussion.

The president and senior White House officials were debating when and how to dismiss Mr. Bannon. The two administration officials cautioned that Mr. Trump is known to be averse to confrontation within his inner circle, and could decide to keep on Mr. Bannon for some time.

Update – Steve Bannon out of White House, Submitted Resignation August 7 – Breitbart

Gobsmacked I am. There goes his base.

    • Yep, it’s over. Just curious, but who’s Steve Bannon? Is that him in the photo?

    • Not sure about that but it will raise many eyebrows.

    • mauser 98

not yet…tax reform, jobs may save him

  • It’s like neighbourhood gossip from your local knitting circle. And these are the people who are supposed to defeat the Global Jihad, and outsmart the Iranians and the North Koreans? Meanwhile the latter have already inserted themselves into your national “debate” (i.e. read “knitting circle gossip”) and are now lecturing you on “slavery”.

    Monty Pythons flying circus.

While McMaster stays put. This is not looking good.

    • Not a bit.

    • Alain

There seems to be a pattern in getting rid of his loyal supporters and allowing them to be replaced with Obama/Deep State operatives. Something is seriously wrong, and it makes no sense.

      • Clink9

They’ve got the dirt on everyone to keep up the revolutionary agenda.

        Can’t fight City Hall.

      • Justin St.Denis

Freaky, isn’t it? Almost as if someone is holding a gun to Donald’s head or something…….

    • Observer

It looks like Trump is about to be drowned by the swamp.

  • Why is this coming through the NYT?

    • Also Breitbart now.

      • Yes, but why was the initial story “according to two administration officials” given to the NYT? They are the enemy, and Trump knows it.

        • tom_billesley

two administration officials from the deep state

  • Jabberwokk

    Meh. No big loss.

    • Alain

Really? Losing your most loyal supporters and letting them be replaced with those working against you and your agenda is more than a big loss; it spells the end.

      • DaninVan

Maybe it’s all a plan to dump Hillary and put someone worse in… 😉
Seriously, this is more and more looking like a mini coup.

The article is by Ben Shapiro, who has never been able to move beyond his “never-Trump” stance. I tend to agree with Ben on many issues, but on this one he blinded by his dislike or shall I say hatred of Trump. Just check out how he reports anything to do with Trump regardless of the issue.

          • bob e

good thinking Alain. I agree about Ben S. who is his
his candidate ?? He doesn’t add up, smart as he is ..

          • Alain

Honestly I don’t recall which candidate he backed among those running, but he got his nose bent out of shape when Trump won and cannot get over that fact.

          • Jabberwokk

I have. On numerous occasions he has both critizied and praised trump where applicable. He literally had a segment on his show committed to what he called good trump/bad trump.

Your interpeting that as hatred makes me suspect that your view has less to do with Ben’s supposed hatred of Trump (citation needed and it better be actual hatred) or your much more believable blind zealousness toward Trump.

But by all means believe what you will. I think trump is a great salesman and a shitty leader. I dont think hes evil or racist just skilled in one area and weak in another. You seem to think Trump is flawless and that’s fine with me I just think your wrong.

  • I bet that leftist bitch Ivanka and her neutered husband are behind this.

    • DaninVan

You may be right (no pun intended)>

This pretty much says it all. From BCF’s link:

“But their alliance ruptured as Mr. Trump elevated the roles of Gary D.
Cohn, his top economic policy adviser and a former official at Goldman
Sachs, and Dina Powell, a former Bush administration official who also
worked on Wall Street. Mr. Cohn is a registered Democrat, and both he
and Ms. Powell have been denounced by conservative media outlets as
being antithetical to Mr. Trump’s populist message.”

    • Jabberwokk

As far as I’m concerned they can go with him.

    • Alain

Very possible, but there are also plenty of others in that same crowd. As a parent I can totally relate to a parent’s love for his children, but at the same time the parent must never be blinded by it. It appears more and more that Obama’s shadow government is in charge and not Trump. Trump is fast becoming just a figurehead, physically occupying the office while others retain power and run the show.

    • bob e

mebbe. If anyone should go. What the hell is Ivanka doin’
in the White house. If she was any further left, she would drop
      into the South China Sea.

  • Hard Little Machine

What Trump doesn’t understand is that it won’t make any difference. The media and left will never stop.

  • mauser 98

    Kelly , McMaster are Democrats
    Preibus, Spicer ,Bannon …GOP
    if it matters

  • Dana Garcia

Will Bannon’s list of campaign promises/accomplishments be erased?×480.jpg

    • Justan Oldfart

Trump on Trump on with hope in our hearts. You freaking betcha! The swamp is draining slowly but it’s an enormous swamp. Leftists to the left and leftists to the right all dressed in black carrying a sickle and a picture of the puppet prophet MO.

  • disqusW6sf

Capitulation, that is what it sounds like. It’s that generation.

  • vwVwwVwv

Now he is isolated, Trump is surrendes to 75% by enemy forces.

  • Tooth&Claw

Maybe I think too much. However, perhaps this is good news, and Bannon can accomplish more in an unofficial capacity than an official one? Trump seems to think like a chess player…several moves ahead.

  • bob e

    terrible news ..

  • Flame

Trump presidency do not depend on one person.
    Even more people support him.
