Where is Guam, the paradise island being threatened by North Korea, and why is it important?

The apparently sudden threat by North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un, of a missile strike on the Pacific holiday paradise island of Guam is not as obscure as it first sounds.

The remote 210-square mile island in the western Pacific Ocean, known for its white beaches and crystal blue waters, is also a strategic US military outpost and host to nuclear bombers and at least 6,000 US service members.

On Monday night, two US B-1 bombers flew from Guam over the Korean peninsula, joining the South Korean and Japanese airforces in joint exercises that were bound to have riled Pyongyang, which over the weekend accused America of devising a “preventive war.”

I doubt that NK has the capability to attack Guam.

It’s possible – but highly unlikely, this has fat boy incensed –> https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2017/08/04/guam-priest-child-sex-abuse-scandal/503680001/

I keep wondering how much longer China and Russia will put up with this crap. If the norks were to hit us they would be a glassed over glowing radiation waste site shortly thereafter and something for the ruskies and the chinks to deal with.

    “Think Big”.
A simultaneous nuking of the top echelons in Pyongyang and Tehran would certainly concentrate everyone else’s thinking around the world.

What difference does it make? Didn’t a democrat say it was going to flip over and sink because of all the military personnel and equipment on the island?
