Liberal energy policy is creating regional rifts in Canada

A week-and-a-half ago, Jason Kenney, the one-time federal Immigration minister, launched his campaign to become leader of Alberta’s new United Conservative Party. Speaking before a cheering crowd of about 500 supporters at Edmonton’s Italian Cultural Centre, Kenney puzzled a lot of observers by spending much of his 35-minute address bashing the federal Liberals and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

He spent relatively less time bashing Alberta’s disastrous NDP provincial government.
