And Google Kicks Off Their “Great Terror” of 2017 With Their First Purge!

In a memo to employees, CEO Sundar Pichai said the employee who penned a controversial memo that claimed that women had biological issues that prevented them from being as successful as men in tech had violated its Code of Conduct and that the post had crossed “the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace.”

He added: “To suggest a group of our colleagues have traits that make them less biologically suited to that work is offensive and not OK.”

Pichai’s wording appears to indicate that the employee is likely be fired [Ed: Yep, he’s been fired!], which some inside and outside the company have been calling for. A Google spokesperson said the company would not confirm any firing of an individual employee, but others have been let go for violating its Code of Conduct in the past.

I waiting with glee for when their stock tanks and they become another dot com implosion because they’ve fired anyone who dares to ‘think different’. And those people who think different or are willing to take on the status quo are usually the types who have superior problem solving/engineering skills… Not some washed up snowflake who takes offence at every damn thing in the world today.

          LOL

They stepped in a stinky one this time! Who wants to invest in a ‘tech’ company that believes ‘group think’ trumps innovation? What a clownshow over there.

I think the wave has crested, or we are all screwed.
The other idea that I;m pushing hard on is to have Google declared a Federal Utility, kind of like the Tennessee Valley Authority.
If they like big government, let’s give them a taste of that old timey religion!

          • lolwut? (Deplorable Hoser)

Bannon is supposedly pushing for that.

Steve Bannon is of a similar mind…….

I used to think that for the most part the people at the top of these diversity programs were being disingenuous when they misrepresented what other people said. I thought they, for the most part, couldn’t have worked their way into these positions of authority without being smarter than they were presenting themselves. Now I’m not so sure. Reading what this diversity officer says was in the original document vs what the original author actually wrote, no-one with an independent thought in their head could actually think they were being accurate, but I do believe she actually believes what she wrote.
I have no idea what the actual numbers are like with real people anymore. Every time I think we’re making progress in debunking this crap, something like this comes along and I just read news report after news report completely missing what this guy wrote, along with mobs of commenters agreeing with both the inaccurate interpretation and the fact that this guy got fired for it.

That’s the way to go. As much of a small, temporary pain it will be, being so used to Google and Youtube, it is time to look for and start supporting alternatives.

This is beyond ridiculous and could be their undoing, I hope.
