Is America on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown or Civil War?

On Friday, Michael Savage — conservative talk show host and Berkeley Ph.D. in nutritional ethnomedicine — referenced Nathaniel West’s classic 1939 novel about the burning of Los Angeles, The Day of the Locust, to describe what will occur in the USA should Trump be brought down by his assorted “Globalist” enemies.

People will “resort to mob violence” when they “are finally aware of the fact that they’ve been tricked by their society, and that no matter how hard they work as middle class people” they are denied.“That is what’s going to happen in this country,” Savage said. “You have not yet seen mob violence in this country. You’ve seen some mob violence instigated by George Soros’ mobs. … But you haven’t seen the thing I’m telling you is coming in this country. You haven’t seen the ‘Day of the Locust’ yet.”

“Deplorables” gone wild and burning down our cities?  Civil war?

New York City used (?) to take its garbage out to sea in scows and dump it. They’ll serve just as well for leftist, dRat, bankist, globalist, cosmopolitan bodies. The Sonoran Desert is also rather large.

    Bring it ON !

They want anarchy they’ll get it……I doubt it will be to their taste.

I know they constantly talk about bring down Trump, but I think there is a different game plan. The ones behind the coup must know that bringing him down will not bode well for them and their followers. By allowing Trump to physically occupy the office while keeping him powerless serves their purpose even better and without the same risk. A lot of Trump voters and supporters will take their anger out on Trump which will limit him to one term.

I was aware of a few people that were having such thoughts in the run-up to the November election.
I was aware of even more people that would not be first instigators but would have readily joined in or somehow supported those that would be committing direct action once the “action” had started.
My caution is that once this stuff gets going, it’s very hard to shut it off, and that even if totally successful things would never be the same.

I think it has already started. Right now it’s being driven by greedy thugs who really aren’t thinking about tomorrow. They get off smashing things and beating up people. (keyword: “right now”)

I don’t think AntiFa and unorganized BLM thugs are part of it, or even a left-wing analog of what I think exists elsewhere on the political spectrum.

I said “right now” — wait till the pushback starts. And there will be pushback. What is going on now cannot continue.

I think the “pushback”, if that’s even the right word will be very asymmetrical.
You will never see a thousand whites (or even a hundred) riot for a rightist cause.
Those numbers exist, but they will not function like that, mostly because they have jobs and need to keep them, and that’s hard to do if you are charged with a serious crimes because you are rioting.

    Civil war? You bet.

  • Norman_In_New_York

I dunno. Pundits have been underestimating Trump since he descended down that escalator in his tower. Now that he has, er, reoriented Attorney General Sessions toward doing the right things, the push back begins and some prominent Democrats may find themselves in deep legal shit.

Sorry but I’ll believe it when I see it. Far too many disappointments and too much back peddling to date.

The US has been in a state of civil cold war for a generation. That war could go hot any day.
