Canada faces calls to freeze arms sales to Saudi Arabia

Human rights groups are calling on Canada to suspend all weapons sales to Saudi Arabia, after serious concerns were raised over the alleged use of Canadian-made arms in a violent crackdown on civilians in an eastern province of the Gulf kingdom.

Images shared on social media purportedly show Canadian-made armored vehicles being used by Saudi government forces against Shiite civilians in the country’s restive, eastern Qatif province, The Globe and Mail newspaper first reported.

Given it’s Sunni vs Shiite, perhaps we should increase the sales.

    • Shebel

Which side should I cheer for?

  • The Butterfly

We should sell them parkas instead.

  • DMB

With Saudi Arabia having a seat on the U.N. “human rights” council and Justin being such a loyal supporter of the U.N. I highly doubt Justin will put a stop to arms sales to Sodom Barbaria. In fact I would not be surprised that because of that nation position in the U.N. that Justin would publicly go to there defense claiming that if the U.N. thinks they are great on human rights than it must be true.

The only thing better would be to sell to both sides.
The Saudis are reliable, cash paying customers.
The Americans, Swedes, Germans, Italians, French, and Russians are lining up to sell the Saudis all the arms they can buy.
Do you really think not selling them anything will change what they do?
War employs many good Canadians, pacifism employs none.

They’re also armoured vehicles and not neutron bombs!

    • Alain

No, we know selling them arms changes nothing. What I find interesting is that our figure head PM (actually those unelected ones staying in the shadows) must decide how vital is virtue signalling.

      • Shebel

I think that in this case case their virtue signalling may not be so Vital.

But if Turdeau does that how will he continue to get ‘donations’ to his trust fund from the house of Saud?

  • ontario john

Feminist Trudeau is having too much fun on the road, to worry about things like that. He is currently in Maxwell Ontario wearing a kilt. Isn’t that cultural appropriation? Maybe he is going to Muslimfest in Mississauga tomorrow. Yes, everyone will be flocking to Muslimfest to learn how to convert to our new state religion, before we are forced too in a few years.

    • Alain

Well, I guess there must not have been a “Pride” event for him to attend.

    • Shebel

It is MAXVILLE. — and the fucker is going to show up until tomorrow.

  • But Canada is back … as an arms dealer!

  • canminuteman

Why? How will arabs kill each other if we don’t provide them with arms?

  • simus1

I’m not quite sure how APCs and armoured jalopies designed to withstand IEDs qualify as exporting Canadian arms but no doubt our leftist friends at The Grope&Flail wiill fill us in on our ignorance concerning this very complex issue.

    • john700

To make sure everyone understands: the arms in question are made in London, Ontario by General Dynamics, a US company. If the stupid Canadians want to abandon this deal, GD, after getting billions in compensation from the Canadian govt, will move the production to a plant in US, the Saudis will still get the arms and, on top of that, Donald J. Trump will be happy to make America great again. Can the snowflakes survive that?

      • Bla Bla

Full speed ahead and damn the facts!

A couple of unemployed rednecks from London Ontario is of no consequence to tali-trudeau and his corrupt squad of virtue signallers.

        • simus1

How true. Mind you, those are union member rednecks. The fact is that no Canadian arms, as in weapons are involved. The next difficulty for the leftist idiots is why aren’t they calling for a boycott of Saudi and Chavezland oil imports, if they are so perturbed at undemocratic regimes doing their usual thing?

          • Bla Bla

They don’t seem to care if those workers are unionized or not, they are fair game for sacrifice at their alters of socialist inspired madness. And now that you mention it, it’s funny they highlight the issues with Saudi Arabia, but not of Venezuela cracking down on it’s citizens in the same or worse manner… Almost like they are trying to keep people from seeing what neo-marxism and socialism really bring to the people.

Grope and fail, also known to me as the glop and pail.

  • Shebel

Justin—–sell them guns or anything else that makes Canada some money.
    STOP—sending them our money !

  • Gary

Justin condemned the sale agreement during the 2015 Election and promised to cancel it.
That was then is this is now. Liberals are flexible and wake up every day to see which way the wind blows and then take a side.
