Canada condemns Venezuela’s ‘undemocratic’ vote – considers doing more nothing

PM Useful Idiot was too busy mincing about to comment.

The Liberal government denounced Sunday’s vote for a new legislative superbody in Venezuela that gives President Nicolas Maduro sweeping powers to reshape the country’s political system but will not follow the Trump administration in imposing sanctions against the Venezuelan president, a government official said Monday.

I’m sure he admires Venezuela’s “basic dictatorship.”

    • I suspect he and his entire cabinet do.

I remember, living in Ottawa in the early 1970s, how father Pierre gave a “viva Cuba” speech in Havana, endorsing Castro’s tyrannical dictatorship. That speech spoke volumes of Pierre’s anti-human-rights beliefs.

His heroes in Cuba have sent troops to terrorize the Venezuelan people and keep that thug Maduro in power; no doubt JT approves (not that any international actor truly gives a hoot what he or unimportant Canada has to say about anything).

    • Exactly why there is no solid action.

    Take in 3 million Venezuelans.

      That’s a really bad plan.
Better to take south african whites or soon prosecuted right leaning europeens.

      • Hard Little Machine

As a former white South African I endorse this 100%. It should terrify everyone that our governments behave this way with so called refugees and immigration. Any group who can get the media’s attention by definition gets elevated status. And the crazier they act the more benefits they get.

The Venezuelans are getting what they voted for. From what I understand the opposition aren’t free market capitalists, they are just complaining that they’re not getting their fair share of the loot.

Not sure why he’d follow Trumps leadership. He loves dictators.

Love the headline to this. Canada under JT in a nutshell. Strike a pose, but don’t actually DO anything at all except continue selling out the country. Cute.

    • I aim to please.

        Ya did good, laddie! 😉

Actually, he was too busy attending a Liberal Fundraiser after a brief pro forma visit to bush-fire firefighters so he could have taxpayers pick up the travel tab instead of the Liberal Party to comment. And I noticed his little, very little, speech was given in front of mainly military personnel and not in front of civilians and civilian firefighters who might have asked WTF he’s been for the past 3 weeks of B.C. bush-fires.

Justin did march in a gay pride rally in Halifax a week or so ago. So the boy wonder is on top of things. /sarc off
