The Week the Russia Conspiracy Theory Fell Apart

“…In fact, it turns out that Russia may have been trying to undermine Trump. And it may have done so in collusion with the Democrats. The Wall Street Journal‘s Kimberly Strassel noted Thursday that Fusion GPS has ties to the Democrats — and will not reveal who paid it for the dossier. Strassel asked: “What if it was the Democratic National Committee or Hillary Clinton’s campaign?” The money could have passed through intermediaries, she added.

That means the real story of collusion in the 2016 election could be that Democrats were working with Russia. And that would make sense, given their long history of appeasing the Russians, under both Clinton and Barack Obama.”

More… The quest to prove collusion is crumbling

While everyone is fixated on President Trump’s unbecoming and inexplicable assault on Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the media has been trying to sneak away from the “Russian collusion” story. That’s right. For all the breathless hype, the on-air furrowed brows and the not-so-veiled hopes that this could be Watergate, Jared Kushner’s statement and testimony before Congress have made Democrats and many in the media come to the realization that the collusion they were counting on just isn’t there.

This should be broadcast daily across all sane media outlets, but there aren’t many left.

The media and Trump opponents will continue to beat the Russia conspiracy drums because by now most people believe it is true (propaganda 101: tell a big lie and stick to it and people will believe you) and it is paying off. Look how they have been able to move Trumps position on Russia. He campaigned on getting along with Russia and tonight it was announced that he will sign the sanctions on Russia bill passed by congress. There was never any evidence of conspiracy but unfortunately Trump has been completely inept in countering the charges.
