Philadelphia Archbishop: “If you want to see the face of Europe in 100 years, barring a miracle, look to the faces of young Muslim immigrants”

“Islam has a future because Islam believes in children,” (Archbishop Charles J.) Chaput said. “Without a transcendent faith that makes life worth living, there’s no reason to bear children. And where there are no children, there’s no imagination, no reason to sacrifice, and no future.”

“Christian” Europe, on the other hand, languishes under a loss of hope in the future, illustrated by a birthrate well below replacement levels, which is offset only by its uncontrolled mass immigration.

“At least six of Europe’s most senior national leaders have no children at all,” the Archbishop noted.  “Their world ends with them. It’s hard to avoid a sense that much of Europe is already dead or dying without knowing it.”

They’re not immigrants, they are invaders.

  • Hard Little Machine

    Oh it’s dead

  • Millie_Woods

They’ve passed the point of no return. On the upside, we’ve fought our last war to save Europe.

    • john700

      only 1/2 of Europe

  • john700

    100 years?! is he blind?

  • jayme

He’s been reading Mark Steyn, hasn’t he?

    Two of those faces:
Police have released CCTV images of two “Asian” men they want to speak to after a 14-year-old girl was raped twice in the same night in Birmingham. She was raped at a railway station near the Aston Villa soccer stadium, then when she flagged down a passing car to seek help, the driver seized his opportunity to rape her.

Kids represent having skin in the game. What do you care about the future when you will have no descendants?

    • Bless his heart

The major leaders of western Europe are barren childless haters.

  • Bless his heart

    It is a war.
Expel the enemy invasion armies from Europe. By any means necessary.

  • Bless his heart

Eastern Europe will have to save Western Europe.

They then need to give them and collect the bill.

    • Alain

No, Eastern Europe should just build a wall to keep the trash from the West from invading, they really are not worth defending by anyone. Those who refuse to defend themselves do not deserve to be defended by others.

      • Bless his heart

The defeat of Islam there is not for Western Europe. It is to keep the territory away from Islam which would eventually continue the attack.
The sea is a better boundary than a wall. Only if you stop the invaders transport and landing craft.

The Western Europeans will pay with many deaths or conversion by force to Islam with many more deaths. Western Europe has chosen pain. That they will never avoid with them having traveled so far down the path they have had chosen for them by their tyrannical rulers.

  • Dana Garcia

“Islam believes in children” — that’s kind of snotty.

Western people ideally tend to have children they can afford to raise properly. Muslim immigrants believe in polygamous breeding, aided by the infidels’ generous welfare systems.

    • Alain

Islam also believes in child sacrifice.

  • ismiselemeas

He’s patently wrong on three fundamental levels. First, as a Catholic clergyman who is unlikely to have reproduced he has no idea of the sacrifices it takes to raise children in the modern world therefore he has no business commenting on it. He simply doesn’t understand. Secondly, faith in sky fairies has absolutely nothing to do with understanding the value that children bring to the lives of right thinking people. I am a man of no faith and I love my children beyond anything he could ever understand. My non belief in deities does not make me a lesser father or reduce the love I have for my children. Thirdly, he’s making the classic mistake of viewing the muslim world through a western lens. When Palestinian mothers celebrate the death of their children it is clear that muslims have a completely different mindset about child rearing and what it means to raise successful adults.

    • Justin St.Denis

Except for the insult to theists about “sky fairies”, I quite agree. Because of the insult to theists about “sky fairies”, I shall remember to never spare your feelings should we ever encounter a difference of opinion because I cannot respect people who do not respect other people.

    • Your sneering contempt is the reason why the West is in the fix that it is in.

      • ismiselemeas

Sneering? No, that’s in the eye of the beholder. Contempt? More than you can possibly imagine. Me? I’m hardly the reason for the downfall of the west. Our dear leaders (all of them) and the people who keep voting for them are doing a bang up job all by themselves.

        • If you choose not believe in any god, that is your business. That you refer to God as a “sky fairy” and insinuate that people who do are not “right-thinking” (“Secondly, faith in sky fairies has absolutely nothing to do with
understanding the value that children bring to the lives of right
          thinking people.”) is obviously contemptuous.

Archbishop Chaput may not understand the logistical goings-on of raising children but that does not detract from the fact that he is utterly right in this. No children = no West.

          • ismiselemeas

Nowhere did I claim that people who believe in gods are not right minded or thinking, right thinking is a very broad term and the connotation is obvious. Let me make it clear, it means good, decent people. Having a clergyman who has taken a vow of celibacy and probably has no children telling me, who has no faith and two beautiful, happy children that my lack of faith is the reason why the west is in decline is beyond absurd. The man clearly correlated a lack of faith with reduced reproduction. I quote; “Without a transcendent faith that makes life worth living, there’s no reason to bear children.” That’s clearly absurd and worthy of contempt. It is an insult to right minded, clear thinking people everywhere.
Europe has plenty of children, just not native European children.
This discourse is merely another example of the fractured logic that ruins this debate. I call all gods sky fairies. Many christians here call the muslim god a whole lot worse than that but when it comes to the return volley a blanket of red rage is draped over everything and the focus of the debate is forgotten in favour of internecine ad hominem attacks.

          • But there is some connection between belief, and the culture that goes with belief, and the desire to reproduce. There is something sterile, (and that word came to my mind before the painfully obvious implications occurred to me a split second later), about a view of the world in which existence is essentially without spiritual meaning.

          • Maybe not for you, but, just psychologically speaking, for a lot of people?

          • You’re just repeating your initial post, not actually addressing the following: why Archbishop Chaput is wrong about a childless post-modern West and why calling God a “sky fairy” is not indicative of the rot inherent in the system.

  • bargogx1

If things keep going they way they’re going, you won’t be able to see the face of Europe in 100 years, because it will have a boot firmly planted in it,.

    • Blacksmith

And over half will be covered in hefty bags…….

  • Blacksmith

Oooooh, pope hopey changey ain’t gonna like that one……

  • He is correct.

Until the post-modern West returns to its values and has replacement people to carry on those values, Islamism will reign supreme.
