Far-right ‘trying to ruin the Government’s LGBT survey’ with false submissions

Far-right trolls have been trying to distort the results of the Government’s first LGBT survey.

The initiative, which was launched by the Government Equalities Office, is designed to be an opportunity for LGBT+ people to have their say on the future of the Government’s equality policies.

More than 60,000 people have already responded to the consultation, which opened on Sunday and ends in October, but there are fears that it may be derailed by false submissions written by users of internet forum 4chan.

One user posted a link to the survey on the site’s /pol/ section, where users post “politically incorrect” comments, and urged others to troll it with racist and homophobic responses.

Maybe they’ll balance out the false responses from the alphabet wackjobs.

    • I hope so.

Exactly. My impression was that validity of any survey goes up the more diverse and varied your respondents are. One should strive for a wide range in geographical location, age , sex, race, socio-economic background, etc. Unless you want your results to just confirm your predetermined conclusions. Then you carefully select your respondents and exclude people that won’t confirm your bias. Like 4chan.

They only wanted lgtb people to respond with what law changes they want. It may be that the ‘community’ is so insane that people are assuming their responses are the work of trolls.

In 1948 Harry Truman integrated the Armed forces. But that came during the beginnings of a civil rights movement and in the waning days of overt legal discrimination.

Are the trans people saying that they’ve been subjected to 400 years of slavery and and 100 years of Jim Crow too? Are they saying that 20% of Americans are held in near captivity and less than peoplehood?

Because I’m not seeing it. And whether you believe they’re ‘born that way’ or not, It’s not something you wear on your face like a badge, unless you want to.

      Try “… less than 2%”.
