US scientists fleeing Donald Trump head to France after Emmanuel Macron’s call to ‘help make our planet great again’

The slogan was a deliberate parody of the climate science-denying Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “make America great again”.

Germany has announced it is to set up a similar scheme.

Raises the average IQ of all the countries involved. Testosterone level, too.

Good. Let foreign taxpayers hand out their grant money.

I’m still waiting for Canadian scientists to release all the info that P.M. Harper was stopping them from releasing?

  • That Macron looks like a Trudeau clone. Do you think there is a factory somewhere churning them out like in Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World?

  • “Mr Macron said those disillusioned by Mr Trump’s dismissal of accepted
science about climate change would discover a very different situation
    in France.”

There is no such thing as “accepted science”. Science is constantly being reassessed in the light of improved measuring equipment, ruthless questioning of currently “accepted” facts and fresh thinking from those outside the “accepted” box. Ask Isaac Newton, or Ptolemy. Or any current scientist who is not paid by his university to produce results that support their political agendas.

Science has never been ‘right’ about anything in the whole of its existence; it is only ever slightly less wrong than it was before.

I wonder if “four-year grants worth up to about £1.3m” could have anything to do with scientists rushing to France to “make Planet Earth great again”?

That room the picture is taken is rather shabby compared to the Donald’s digs.

    Never trust the French.
It is very difficult to determine which ones are the genuine idiots.
