Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is reaching for one of his favorite political tools in the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA): town hall meetings.

TRump is going to thump him.

    • Alain

I keep waiting in hope of that.

    • Justin St.Denis

I hope the thumping is televised in HD. There are some things one simply does not want to miss!

        Hey Justin,
I’m home with my wife on vacation.
        It feels strange again.
I’m here but I’m not here.

        • Justin St.Denis

Congratulations. I know the feeling well. Tell your wife how strange you’re feeling. Women know feeling strange……..

I think Trudeau is about to find out the true cost of that $10,500,000 check he wrote to Omar Khadr.
I doubt the end result will be more than 50,000 Canadian jobs lost, so nothing to get all worked up about.
It’s not like gainfully employed and tax-paying Canadians were voting for Trudeau anyways. Justin knows that and is taking care of his base, which is a lot more vibrant than your average Canadian of Scottish/English/Irish heritage.

The fact is the US enjoy’s a $10 Billion SURPLUS in the trade of goods and services with Canada. If our PM wasn’t such an idiot he would be making this fact known loud and clear. Just because the US has a big trade deficit with Mexico is no reason to attack Canada.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

      Are you sure about that?
All I have ever heard was a trade deficit with Canada.
Are they counting just manufacturing, or are they including energy and raw materials exports?

      • Ho Hum

The trade in Services is what gives the US a surplus. If you take out services (which support high paying jobs) and just look at the trade in Goods the US has a small trade deficit with Canada. Overall the US is doing good with Canada – nothing like the massive trade deficits with China and Mexico.

        https://ustr.gov/countries-regions/americas/canada

“The U.S. goods and services trade surplus with Canada was $12.5 billion in 2016.”

    • Alain

That may be, but the much bigger issue now is the security threat that Canada poses which does not play well with unrestricted border crossing.

      • Justin St.Denis

Accepting “refugees” from the USA also has a price, one which will be extracted in myriad ways. It’ll take some time before Canadians realize the word “Canada” may not be SOLIDLY LISTED UNDER “ALLIES” in the eyes of the USA anymore. That costs.

Insulting the world’s greatest political power does not come free. Having the insult delivered by a lightweight in short pants like Justin Turdeau is going to come at an especially high cost.

Hope Justin wears his izzlamic socks ..

He can hold all the town halls he wants – from prison for aiding alqaeda… He should have his security clearances also revoked… Along with every traitorous member of the illiberal party of canada.

  • Alain

These are never ever actual Town Hall meetings, because only those pre-approved, in other words Liberal foot soldiers, are allowed to participate. Any real town hall meeting has unrestricted access for all views and opinions.

    • Clausewitz

He doesn’t listen anyway. He only listens to Gerald.

Canada’s commodity exports to the US seldom reach beyond the 10% of the market level and mainly serve to put a ceiling on price increases by domestic producers which they really hate but outfits like Home Depot really love. What is a possibility is some sort of twisty duty impositions that are really a partial American VAT in disguise.
