Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Martin Landau

Martin Landau, the chameleon-like actor who gained fame as the crafty master of disguise in the 1960s TV show “Mission: Impossible,” then capped a long and versatile career with an Oscar for his poignant portrayal of aging horror movie star Bela Lugosi in 1994’s “Ed Wood,” has died.

He was 89.

Watched Space: 1999 and Mission: Impossible as a child. Lotsa fun.

“Space: 1999” was my favorite scifi show in my misbegotten youth.

Rest in peace, Martin Landau. You brought me so much joy through your talent. I used to go to every single film you appeared in. You made otherwise crummy films memorable.

      I want to be 89.
      No, I don’t.
But, I want to live that long.
      Just like Granddad.

I want to die in my sleep, just like Granddad – not screaming in terror like his passengers!

The Bela Lugosi performance in Ed Wood was truly inspired.

Sorry to hear he passed. Lots of good childhood memories watching “”Space 1999″”. One of my favorite shows as a boy. I still watch them now and then on YouTube.

Yes, indeed – my prime memory of Martin Landau was Space 1999, and all of those 1970’s figure-hugging garments…

Rest in Peace Martin – you provided some of us very cherished memories.

He was in a 1973 Columbo where he played these twin brothers wanting to bump off dad for the money once they destroy the Will so it defaults to them based on california law.
He must have filmed all the scenes in 1 character and then did the other scenes as him while knowing the film would add both and he had to speak to where his brother would be standing.
Seems easy but there is a timing for it and you must look like a person is there. He was also in the X-File movie plus Ed Wood .

Sorry to ruin all of your days but; I never liked him. Turned on shows where he wasn’t. But may he rest in peace.
