Taboo mosque will stay open whether Muslims like it or not

In an interview with The Guardian, Seyran Ates revealed that the liberal mosque gets a lot of criticism from conservative Muslims.

She also said that she receives death threats on a daily basis. Yet, the Turkish-born lawyer and women’s rights campaigner say none of these is stopping the mosque.

    I wish her luck. Islam is probably the only institution that I would say needs a more liberal, moderating influence.

    It isn’t the Muslim rank and file she has to worry about, but the imams who are the real threat to free thought.

    She is attempting to create a less harmful version of cancer. Nonetheless, cancer it shall be and always remain, as the Koran is a wretched book filled with hate of the “unbeliever” and the “infidel”.

    No matter how this woman attempts to reform Islam, since Islam is corrupt at the core and the Koran is essentially a de facto terrorism manual, she can only fail.
