Allies of Pope Commie accuse Trump White House of ‘apocalyptic geopolitics’

An explosive article written by two close associates of Pope Francis has accused Steve Bannon, the chief White House strategist, of espousing an “apocalyptic geopolitics” whose roots are “not too far apart” from that of Islamist extremism.

The article in La Civiltà Cattolica, which is vetted by the Vatican before publication, lays out a scathing critique of “evangelical fundamentalism” in the US, arguing that, on issues ranging from climate change to “migrants and Muslims”, proponents of the ideology have adopted a twisted reading of scripture and the Old Testament that promotes conflict and war above all else.

  • When one reads history, one sees how people’s beliefs at a given time and place are largely bound by group-think. Members of a given group existing at a certain time and place see the world through the prism of that group, and have a hard time seeing it otherwise. Whole peoples, including their most intelligent elements, may for decades or centuries remain stuck in a certain framework or paradigm, unable to see their way out of it.

    • How right you are.

And today’s liberal group-think is suicidal.

This pope is a disaster for Christianity and Western Civilization.

      • Right on.
It was the leftist mind-set I was referring to. Obviously, some people in the Catholic hierarchy have become infected with it – they who elected this subversive Pope, and are now using his authoritative position to infect other people with the same belief system.
My point was that this won’t be remedied overnight. Who knows how long it will take to cure people of the leftist world-view.

The last time the Catholic hierarchy got infected with a mindset, it was 12th century queers ruling that priests need to be celibate. The Vatican has been little more than a gay bathhouse ever since.

          • Yes, I was just thinking the same thing.
The credibility and moral authority of the Catholic church has taken an enormous beating over the past few decades, with revelations of the large scale homosexual/pedophile proclivities of priests and even bishops.
If the leadership is so lacking in integrity, so morally corrupt, why should the ordinary folk respect them. The left come on as reformists.
And of course, this was programmed centuries ago, when celibacy was made the standard of behavior.

Agreed. But as everyone knows, they’re not celibate, they’re deviant.

      • Justin St.Denis

Ditto and ditto. Pope Evita is precisely what the RC Church does NOT need right now given contemporary challenges.

        • Tooth&Claw

The pope and his acolytes are speeding up the demise of the Catholic church IMO.

    • He is mired.

  • Hard Little Machine

Catholicism’s future is only in parts of South America and Africa. And scattered enclaves in Asia. He has to appeal to Marxist third world black and brown people. It’s marketing.

    • Norman_In_New_York

      Glad you mentioned marketing.

    • Justin St.Denis

      Interesting take.

    • Actually they tend to be more conservative in those parts.

      • I was just going to make the same reflection. At least in Africa and Asia, it is true that Christians are more conservative. In Latin America, I am not so sure – there is there a revolutionary (i.e. leftist) popular tradition.

  • Bless his heart

Well, the pope suggests we take it up the *** from the Muslims, then let them kill us.
FU, pope. This pope would have ordered his part of the fleet to surrender to the Muslims at Lepanto.

this pope advocates the rapes of millions. This pope advocates the murder of millions.

He calls his acts good, yet they result in great evil. This pope is damned.
