US soldier arrested for alleged connections to ISIS

An active duty Army soldier has been arrested by the FBI in Hawaii on charges of trying to send military documents and training to ISIS, authorities said Monday.

Officials identified the soldier as Ikaika Kang, 34, and said he was arrested because he had connections to ISIS.

Kang is with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu.

He was deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and South Korea and has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Achievement Medal, the Humanitarian Service medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, among others, NBC reported.
