95-year-old Canadian vet outraged at Khadr’s payout

Like Omar Khadr, fellow Canadian Victor Scott knows what it’s like to go overseas as a young man to fight a war.

The difference is: Scott was on our side.

Veteran Blinded By Omar Khadr Says Trudeau Guilty Of Treason
    DAVID KRAYDEN

    12:14 AM 07/09/2017

The wounded warrior who was blinded by Omar Khadr’s grenade attack that killed Sgt. Chris Speer says Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau should be charged with treason.

In an interview with the Toronto Sun on Saturday, Layne Morris says Trudeau’s decision to reward the former al-Qaida terrorist with a formal apology and $10.5 million cash settlement feels “like a punch in the face.”

“I don’t see this as anything but treason,” said Morris. “It’s something a traitor would do. As far as I am concerned, Prime Minister Trudeau should be charged.”

Morris is also angry that Trudeau delivered the “compensation” money to Khadr in secret so that the settlement would be unknown to any U.S. court. Morris, along with Speer’s widow, Tabitha Speer, were awarded $134 million in a civil suit aimed against Khadr.

“It feels like a dirty deal to me,” the former U.S. Army special force sergeant said. Morris notes that Khadr was also removed from Guantanamo Bay in secret by then-president Barack Obama and sent to Canada.

“He sure gets special treatment,” Morris said, noting that the Khadr’s life was saved by American medics who could have left him to “die like a dog.”

Morris is bewildered that one of America’s closest allies would sanction a payoff to Khadr.

“We were fighting the terrorists. They were the bad guys. Something is really off here,” he said. “I can’t believe any government would get involved in something like this.”

“The fact is Chris Speer and myself were fighting with Canadians in Afghanistan. We were alongside the PPCLI [Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry]. There was a Canadian flag flying along with the American flag at our base there, so it’s quite a thing that now Canada is giving millions to a guy who would attack a compound where Canadians were serving.”

I hope that some journalist who still has a shred of integrity left in his or her miserable carcass is investigating the relationship between the Khadr family and the Liberals going ALL the way back to 1977 when the elder Khadr first entered the country.

      • Chris

Don’t hold your breath. Over half of all journalists in Canada work for the state broadcaster and the rest are sitting at the Liberals feet begging for bailouts.

I tend to be a wishful thinker.

A few years ago (when i was mobile), I used to attend the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Jewish Y at Bloor and Spadina. I became intrigued by the number of vets who wore Scottish regalia including the kilt — I had had an uncle who was with the Irish Regiment of Canada and who also wore a kilt. So I decided to write a story to find out more about this curious phenomenon

These old Jewish vets told me that there was such desire to go overseas and fight Hitler, that their younger friends fudged their birth certificates. Some of them fooled the recruiters. But one story was unforgettable. One young lad made it all the way to Halifax where the troop ship he was on was ready to depart. His frantic mother (you know what Jewish mothers are like) came screaming in, all the way from Toronto with her son’s birth certificate in hand. The boy was only 15. To his everlasting embarrassment he was dragged off the ship by his ears.

I also knew a man who wanted to be a paratrooper. He signed up at 18 near the end of the war (he also altered his birth certificate). However, he was considered ‘too skinny’ to be a paratrooper and he never got to go overseas.

Why do our women spit in the face of these noble veterans by voting for sluts like the Trudeaus?

    • Drunk_by_Noon

When faced with the choice between liberty and dreamy hair, they will chose dreamy hair every time.

      • Alain

That also seems to be the case with our metrosexual “males”.

    • Lightstream

I sure didn’t vote for that horror. I voted for the lesser of the 3 evils…Conservative and I’ll take liberty any time over dreamy hair. Just because some women have fluff for brains, doesn’t mean all women do.

Starting with Trudeau Sr., I’ve seen what he and his ilk have done to our country and I’m angry. It seems all politicians care only about themselves and their agendas. They care nothing about what the majority of Canadians want. I can’t stand them. They’re sleazy, underhanded, disgusting liars. My friends feel that way as well.

      • Alain

Thank you and all other women like you. Neither did my wife vote Liberal or NDP.

      • BillyHW

You use the words “some” and “all”, but have you heard of the “most”?

  • DMB

This must be circulated massively to the Canadian public and haunt the Liberals in the next election in order for the public to see what a liar Justin is!

Women *love* being lied to. It turns them on.

    • andycanuck

Another broken Liberal promise. How very uncharacteristic.

    • In my opinion, it’s not replayed enough.

If Canadians vote for the Liberals next time around, an asteroid can’t come soon enough.

  • ontario john

Another reason for feminist Trudeau to pass laws to kill off old people. Its a good thing the vet didn’t say anything about whiny indians, or he would be in real trouble then.

  • Oracle9

Oh, the amount is estimated to be $10.5Mm but media had added a footnote that the actual amount from this transparent government is UNDISCLOSED.

I don’t believe anyone’s estimate. I am hoping that Canadians will be apprised of the real amount.

    • andycanuck

He was suing for $20-million so I could see an immoral deal for just over half having been struck. Still, I want to see a full accounting too.

This isn’t an ordinary court case where you can have a non-disclosure agreement. It was a public case against the Government of Canada being paid with tax dollars. We should know how every penny was spent.

  • Oracle9

When he gets back from his European honeymoon with Macron, I would like to see Justin face a contingent of Canadian veterans who fought in Afghanistan.

It surely could not be active servicemen, not in Canada.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

      They won’t.
      They can’t.
There are no more honest reporters left.
They have all been driven out by the propagandists.

      • Oracle9

I am sure there are veterans who might have an opinion about this fiasco.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

Assuming that they even still exist, will their editors and publishers allow them to be heard?

          • Chris

Not in a decade of sundays.

          • Oracle9

Canadian forces have been in the Middle East for the last 15 years. Lots of those vets are still very much around.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Oh I’m sure there are many veterans of the M.E. wars in Canada.
I was talking about honest reporters.
It seems I was answering a question that has since been edited into oblivion.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

Any outrage against Trudeau will be muted by a popular mainstream press that is the propaganda arm of the Canadian Liberal Party.
    They must be rooted out.

  • SMC_BC

I’m looking forward to the next poll result to see if Trudeau’s payment to Khadr dropped him from 40% to single digits, where he belongs.

    • Chris

If that does happen there won’t be one media outlet besides the Rebel.ca that will report it. As a matter of fact They will trot out polls from Lib friendly companies that show Justins support at an all time high. All taken in downtown Toronto of course.

    • Alain

First it would need to be an honest poll which is rare.

    • A Hamilton Guy

His single digit should be a zero.

  • Bla Bla

What is the point of having all of these stupid rules on money transfers, bank transfers, etc if the ruling government of the day is just going to throw the laws out they don’t like and do what they want to do anyways? Oh that’s right, laws are just for us… I’m so stupid and naive.

    • Lightstream

I’ve been saying for years that democracy is fading fast in Canada. In fact, I’m sure now that this is not a democratic country. Politicians in all levels of government lie, lack transparency and do whatever they please. We don’t count at all. In this county, only new immigrants and refugees matter.
The minority ruling the majority. The silent majority, that is.

      • Bla Bla

Oh we count… But just as taxpayers. Nothing else.

  • Bla Bla

Any other government financing terrorism gets put on watch lists and has its ruling leaders bank accounts seized. Bet you taliban trudeau moves his accounts overseas.

  • irishrus

Canada’s emblem has become a beaver tied with leather straps to a bed begging for more.

  • Solo712

The only mitigating circumstance to Trudeau’s payout is that he apparently does not grasp it takes a wretched moral degenerate to volunteer his signature on a 10.5-million government cheque to someone like Omar Khadr and help him hide the money from people who were the real victims in the sad story.
