Omar Khadr got his money from Justin Trudeau, sources say

Former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Omar Khadr has received his $10.5-million settlement from the federal government, sources tell CBC News.

The sources said the payment was made Wednesday night.

The Canadian Press reported late Thursday that a source familiar with the situation says the Liberal government wanted to get ahead of an attempt by two Americans to enforce a massive U.S. court award against Khadr in Canadian court.

Well, this is going to be an expensive choice for Canada.
NAFTA is certainly going away now, and faster than it otherwise would have.
Was it worth it just to stick you finger in our eye?

    • Bla Bla

Canadians rarely seem to worry about consequences and always act surprised when there is pushback from their intended victim. Just like every other despotic shithole on the planet, our rulers will use the pushback from the states to get reelected by the low info (aka moron) voters again.

    • Clink9

Our Dear Leader needs a spanking from Trump. Hurry please.

    • Alain

I hope President Trump comes down like a ton of bricks on short-pants and his party of thieves and thugs. Yes, the rest of us who never supporter him, his party and certainly not the love affair with this POS convicted terrorist will also suffer, but I still want to see some real retribution rendered.

    • The real victims are the Speers and Layne Morris.

  • Starlord

As Gerald butts once said “this isn’t going to age well”

  • Ho Hum

Adding outrage upon outrage! This was done to thwart the efforts of the US Medics widow to lay claim to the money. I hope that Trump is aware of this and that he blast Jihadi-Justin in person and in public.

  • He’s poked the bear. New humiliating nickname time.

    • lolwut? (Deplorable Hoser)

      Just “Traitor” will do

      • Tooth&Claw

        Jerkwad Justin works for me.

  • ontario john

Just when you thought that moron prime minister couldn’t do anything more disgusting, he secretly gives a terrorist millions of dollars in a big rush to fend off military families. And of course, he planned it when parliament is not in session, and he is showing off his socks in Europe. But I’m sure his loyal media will be working over time to support him.

  • Oracle9

From the NP article: “Governments don’t make confessed killers rich without a reason. By failing to provide one, Trudeau leaves himself open to the suspicion that he privately sides with those credulous Khadr sympathizers who accept his most lurid allegations of mistreatment while dismissing the inconvenient facts of his conviction, confession and apparently sincere apology to Sgt. Speer’s widow.”

    • Alain

I agree but must point out that the Arar case was a sham, and I expressed my disgust to the Conservatives at the time. No evidence or any proof of torture and yet we just handed over a big payout.

      • Oracle9

AND insulted the Canadian and American militaries,

AND sent a clear signal to terrorists that Canada will prostrate itself to the jihadis every time.

  • simus1

$10mil doesn’t just come out of petty cash. Some enterprising reporter should stick in a foi request to find out how this played out from start to finish.

  • Liberal Progressive

I think you are all being kind of unfair on this. Think of all the good that is going to come from this money.

There are a lot of Liberal candidates who desperately need campaign contributions with only two years to go before the next federal election.

    • chayisun

AND the family will be unable to continue to collect public assistance.! What a GREAT country!!! Only in CANADA…..Be a terrorist, kill people, have a family that HATES the country, collect FREE benefits paid for by taxpayers,……Where did I go wrong????

      • Tooth&Claw

Khadr married. Far as I know he’s not responsible for his mother, sister or brothers. They can still collect welfare as they are not personally benefiting from this misuse of taxpayer money.

    • Bernie

      Mostly Islamic supporters.

      • Reader

The Liberals always pay out big to its own.

  • ontario john

I wonder if the billionaire muslim con man living on his private island, made a call to little Justin.

  • Waffle

I think there is a lot we don’t know about the Khadrs and their relationship to the Liberal party going back to Jean Chretien — maybe further.

    • Observer

Why else would they have made the payment TAX-FREE?

No income tax has to be paid on this income.

      • Waffle

Special favours for special people. As I said, there is a lot we don’t know about the Khadrs and the Liberals. Where the hell are the investigative reporters? BTW, yesterday I read a snippet of Johnny Kay’s fawning piece for the CBC about why Omar deserves (!!!) the $10 mil AND an apology. I threw up.

      • No income tax for Tabitha Speer’s money, I’m sure they meant to say.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

Here, judgments for damages are not usually taxable.

          • I’m sure the Liberals were sweetening the deal for that piece of sh–.

  • Mark

We are no better than Hamas. We each pay terrorists or their families for killing people. Trudeau and any liberal voter that supports this shit can go fuck themselves.

    • Bla Bla

Well, the liberals do have a soft spot for those murderous little bastards.

  • chayisun

“The Canadian Press reported late Thursday that a source familiar with the situation says the Liberal government wanted to get ahead of an attempt by two Americans to enforce a massive U.S. court award against Khadr in Canadian court.”

Trudeau couldn’t care less that this Islamic thug killed a medic and severely injured another person while “fighting” alongside a terrorist group. This “person” had a job in this group as a bomb maker. Now he is a multimillionaire thanks to the liberal government of Canada. Through taxpayer’s money, no less.

Hopefully, and one can only HOPE, the American Widow and her children who lost her husband and the family of the injured soldier, can take everything this khadr has. Everything. If only the terrorist family of this piece of dung would somehow vanish from Canada.

There is a silver lining. The freeloaders will have to get off public assistance…..

  • eustace3

I am concerned a bit by precedent in this case. A Canadian anywhere fighting with a terrorist group who is captured and treated badly can demand Canada do everything in its power to repatriate him? And if they don’t, on return home he can sue that his Charter rights were neglected?
This may sound specious, but there are Canadians now fighting with ISIS, who down the road may be the next Khadr awaiting a settlement.
One reason Parliament, Cabinet should have fought this suit vigorously, rather than hiding behind a SCOC decision.
This is a gross perversion of the original intent of the Charter; even PET never intended that its application would extend to any country in the world, even for Canadians fighting against regular Canadian forces.

  • robins111

Frankly, I can think of nothing more designed to piss off Trump that to try to screw one of his war widows. I can forsee the US (Trump) suddenly deciding that there is a consequence to American industry, supporting left wing media in Canada. I expect there’ll be a few incidents of IRS reviews of the lib supporting multi-nationals till they get the message.

Funding for anti-left Canadian politicians will likely come as CPACS and investigations into such lizards as Tides, etc..

    • Clink9

Maybe Khadr will spend some of the dough supporting terror again and they’ll bust him on that.

      No, just dreaming.

      • Observer

No, Justin would give him an Order of Canada for murdering more.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

No, but WE might bust him on that, and then Canada gets the unhappy choice of re-extraditing him BACK to the USA, or ignoring the extradition request and then having a morally outraged Congress fire up economic sanctions that affect trade and banking.

        • Clink9

Turdo will wear this skid mark for a long time.

        • lolwut? (Deplorable Hoser)

Is he still facing charges and jail?

All I can find is something about an appeal.

  • Norman_In_New_York

If the American plaintiffs follow through, Canadian taxpayers may be stuck paying double.

  • Morticiaa

This and other reasons add to my shame to be Canadian
The courts, judges and politicians who supported this should all be put in Guantanamo
His low life lawyer once had the nerve to email me over some type of protest
As both he and the criminal terrorist Omar live in Edmonton
His lawyer will be happy as he gets a couple million or more for this case
    I don’t regret celebrating 4th of July
I hope the families of those he killed and maimed continue with the law suit and
It is a fact that with the low genetic pool we have here in Canada that they gave a chance of winning back some of the money our money belongong to us the tax payers of Canada,,, before he gives it to all the terrorist groups he is associated with including his fucked up family who are all Islamic extremists

I used to be proud. Now I am truly disturbed that Trudeau got elected and doubly disturbed that this is happening. Terrorism is rewarded it seems. Being a decent, law abiding citizen is punished.

  • ontario john

Praise Allah!! They will praising imam Trudeau in every mosque in Canada.

    • John Boy

And all the IED factories Omar might be funding with our tax dollars.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

I’d say that boy wonder has just had his last U.S. visit.
