Couple Banned From Farmers Market Over Same-Sex Marriage Views Speaks Out

After Steve and Bridget Tennes posted on Facebook they wouldn’t host same-sex weddings on their family farm because of their religious beliefs about marriage, city officials in East Lansing banned the couple, owners of Country Mill, from selling produce at the local farmers market 22 miles away.

O.T. But wasn’t there a post about the crazy ladies yelling at the “white lady” reporter?

Wasn’t that a doozy?!? A press confo by native women who got pissed off over sweet fuck all from what I could tell. Their “outrage” sounded scripted to me.

Sounded like people that have got “money for nothing” their whole lives.

  • Perhaps Big Gay should re-write the Constitution. After all, they want it disregarded when it suits them.

All the more reason to pay attention to what happens this October.

I think there’s a big difference between “I don’t want to sell you this basket of fresh vegetables because you are gay.” and “I don’t want to be forced to participate in a religious ceremony that is against my belief system.”

      Not to the progressive Left.

That is not the question here. It is; does the city have have the right to set the rules for participation in the farmers market that it runs, even if those rules are more restrictive than the States laws. I don’t know Michigan law, but I think the farmer is going to have a hard time making any case. The city has not limited him from doing as he wants, it is just refusing him participation in an activity where it sets all the rules.

As far as I am concerned our constitutional right to freedom of association means that all “anti discrimination” laws are unconstitutional.

Unless we are prepared to play hard ball we will see more of this.
