Stalin is named ‘the most outstanding person’ in history pushing Putin into second place in a Russian poll

Soviet leader Josef Stalin has been named the most outstanding person in history in a Russian poll despite executing more than a million people in political purges.

The survey by the Levada Center in Moscow released Monday showed 38 percent of those two took part chose Stalin.

The figure is in stark contrast to the mere 12 percent who picked him in 1989 when Russians were beginning to discover the crimes of the Stalin regime.

They had Georgia on their minds.

And I hope Putin isn’t taking that as a challenge!

  • Drunk_by_Noon

    Stalin was worse than Hitler.
    Just keep reminding yourself that.

      How do you know

      • Drunk_by_Noon

        Body count

        • vwVwwVwv

Start counting, Hitler and his associates have from 33-45 about 45.000.000.
Stalin killed in the Cholodomor in Ukraine about 4.000.000 people and
          about 11.000.000 during his terror.
Hitler killed 27.000.000 Sovjets in 4 years.
Stalin killed 15.000.000 Sovjets in about 10 years.
As horrible Stalin was, Hitler killed more Russians then Stalin.
I know thet for example Mao killed more then Stalin and Hitler but he had more time.

          • Stalin killed seven million in Ukraine:

That is not really true. Today in times of self victimization as a source of privilege,
Leftarded victim it’s pride, every nation try’s to play the super victim.
Germans whine about Jewish claims to return property,
Polish don allow one to call Aushwitz a Polish Concentration camp,
BLM claims to be the victim of Slavery 2017, Muslmaniacs are victims of everybody
they murdered and Palestinians invented a Victim Nationality for
            Imperialist Arab Warmongerers and thieves.
As long the numbers are not clear and one does not distinguish between resistance,
riot and casualty, as long you don’t count thous who died out of other reasons
then Sovjet murdergangs, like normal fertility, I would rather take
the numbers with a little salt in them.
            I lost many relatives in
This time from Comunist gloriously organize inga a bright future….

          • Let’s try this again:

“By some estimates, he was responsible for the deaths of 20 million people during his brutal rule.”

Some put the number killed in the famine at 10 million:

“The Black Book of Communism” also puts the famine death toll in similar numbers.

          • vwVwwVwv

Even then hitters 27.000.000 Russians, of whom 20.000.000 where civilians is far more.

          • If the whole point was not kill Russians, then Stalin would STILL be worse than Hitler.

          • vwVwwVwv

Really ok, take 20.000.000 Sovjet civilians, add. some 4.000.000 none Russian Jews,
add, Brits, Polish, Jugoslave and other civilians, add all the undeclared wars
( he never declared war officially to smaller country’s….) what’s
a war crime and the dead soldiers victims of Germany….

You can turn the coin and spinn it, hitler beats Stalin on anything but victory.

          • Russian Jews = Russians.

Stalin had a special hatred for them.

As he did for the following: Poles, Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Hungarians, Koreans, any resident of the Baltic states.

The argument isn’t who is better – Stalin or Hitler – but who is in hell first.

          • vwVwwVwv

No, USSR has lost about 2.000.000 Jews, 27.000.000 Sovjet citizens.
The hate of Stalin was aimed on Jews as Israel did not go Comunist,
besides this it was not bigger than average socialist jewhate.

          • There has always hatred of the Jews in Russia.

          • vwVwwVwv

The best thing is to use Russian numbers and they are not relished jet.
Stalin ruined more people’s life’s but this is only because hitler had no
chances to do it to the people, he had less time.

          • The best thing is not to use Russian numbers at all. Look how long it took for them to admit that Katyn even happened.

          • vwVwwVwv

Use I mean really use, not believe in, just use.

          • I wouldn’t even use them.

          • UCSPanther

The Soviets in their behavior were more interested in subjugation rather than genocide, although they made use of mass killings, both to rid themselves of potential resistance, and as a tool of terror.

As far as I am concerned, the Axis were the worst killers of civilians in WWII.

          • vwVwwVwv

I don’t try to make one look better then the other but the Sovjets have been victorious,
if hitlerism had 70 years time to do what they did you would have no polish, no Ukrainian,
Tshechoslovakians, Jugoslave, Russians….. in Europe left.
It started with the Jews but Hitler had
            further plans.

You can say a lot about Stalin but with a less brutal man in the Kremlin history would
probably look very different and in the End the differences between
            International-Socialism and National-Socialism
            aren’t really greater then the
Difference between a white or black Chicken in a chicken supe

          • UCSPanther

Stalin was ultimately the lesser of two evils at the time. It was a choice between the openly genocidal maniacs of the Axis or the power and conquest hungry Combloc.

  • Alain

It has everything to do with Russia even now refusing to expose Stalin for what he was and what he did. While Russia has now rejected the yoke of communism she has not correct the communist revised history.

Perhaps however I have not much if any moral high ground in light of how Canadians voted on both the federal and provincial levels. Maybe there is something in the air or in the water to explain the lunacy.

  • BillyHW

    What a guy!

  • He’s still an important part of Russian history especially re: WWII, albeit the ugliest part overall. Sorta like the Confederates in the U.S., who, by the way, are being currently purged from U.S. history the same way the former Soviets once purged their own “politically-incorrect” past from historical records. At least they’re giving nods to Czar Peter the Great in the poll.

Everything is upside down, inside out, and backwards. God have mercy on us all.

  • vwVwwVwv

Now Putin the Stalinist has free hands to behave like Dugashwili did.
