The alleged mastermind of the devastating Bali bombings has finally been charged, more than a decade after 202 people were killed including 88 Australians.

Guantanamo Bay prisoner Riduan Isamuddin was accused in a U.S. war court on Friday of orchestrating the 2002 Bali bombings and a 2003 attack on a hotel in Jakarta that killed 12 people.

Hambali was captured in Bangkok, Thailand in 2003 and has been held in Guantanamo Bay without charge since 2006.
