Oliver Stone’s Response to Being Laughed at for Defending Putin: Blame the Jews

When film director Oliver Stone could not come up with a plausible response to Stephen Colbert’s tough questions about why he gave a pass to Vladimir Putin for trying to influence the American presidential election, Stone resorted to an age-old bigotry: blame the Jews – or, in its current incarnation, shift the blame to the nation state of the Jewish people, Israel. Colbert was interviewing Stone about his new documentary, “The Putin Interviews” – a film comprised of conversations he had with the Russian president over the past two years. The exchange regarding Israel did not make it to air but was relayed to the New York Post’s Page Six by a source who was in the audience

This is his second paid Russian propaganda movie since 2013. And then there’s his love poems to Ed Snowden and Fidel Castro, a potboiler about 911 and that’s pretty much it this century. He really doesn’t have a career in Hollywood anymore and has retired to being an ‘executive producer’ eg, the guy who finds the financing.

And blame the Jews? Yeah might have backfired 5 years ago but no more. Now Hollywood is wholly antisemitic.

How else is he going to get Middle Eastern money to fund movies?

There is always China, they own most of Hollywood now anyway.

    • Stone is just an awful man.

A puzzling article. As one write put it, five years ago the left supported Vladimir Putin, and the right criticized him. The write said that the Nation magazine (the house organ of the U.S. left) ran articles supporting Putin, whereas the National Review (the house organ of the right) attacked him.

But with the advent of Donald Trump, there has been a role reversal. Part of it stems from Putin’s strong opposition Islamic terrorism (the left supports Islamic war crimes). But Trump had signaled he wanted to negotiate with Putin.

And the current Trump-Russia hysteria is fed by the left cartel. They see an opening to attack Trump, so the left now is very anti-Putin. The left-wing Globe and Mail traditionally supported Soviet and Putin repression of dissidents – but now they are running stories supporting the dissidents.

This is why Oliver Stone’s support of Putin is a puzzle. Stone supports Cuban anti-democratic repression, so perhaps he just supports all forms of dictatorship. His anti-Jewish hatred probably stems from his love of jackboot repression.

      Funny that, eh?

But this pattern works extraordinary well, hardly anyone calls you out,
you play the victim and get applause from left and some on the right.
Whoo needs new lies if the dumb old lies work so well.

After having done a series of flops, his financing has dried up and so he now needs someone to blame.

Perhaps Val Kilmer could spot him a $20…
