Canada Goes Full Maoist

“Health Canada considers sweeping ban on junk food ads aimed at children and teens.” So reads the headline at CBC News. And with that matter-of-fact announcement — just a normal day’s political news in the true north weak and socialist — a nation quietly declares itself lost to freedom forever. D-Day memories of the brave Canadians at Juno Beach washed away in a tide of authoritarian progressivism. Freedom traded for paternalistic social engineering in the name of protecting children from over-salted cheese.

Junk food, is just another leftist propaganda crap label

    Read the “healthier choices” ingredients

they aren’t healthier, but they are cheaper to make
and are sold at a much higher price

Besides people just don’t buy that HC crap
They’ll ask for HC, Crap talk about the reguar chips, pop and bars
but they don’t buy HC, they buy a Mars bar, everytime
    They’re all two faced liars

I hear that speech about once a month
and can hear it without rolling my eyes
cause I own a vending business
and if you want to lose money fast
    sell “healhier choices”

Government shouldn’t be subsidizing ad agencies.

  • Ron MacDonald

That ought to make him just a popular as Michele Obama was with parents.

  • Ahem:

“A Liberal bill that would make it easier for people to become Canadian citizens has passed the Senate, after over a year of back-and-forth in Parliament.

Bill C-6 was designed to repeal many of the previous Conservative government’s changes to how people become citizens — and how they can lose that status.

Among other things, the legislation repeals a provision that strips dual citizens of their Canadian status if convicted of terrorism, treason or espionage.

But far more people lose their citizenship because it was obtained fraudulently and current law gives them no right to appeal, something not addressed in the Liberals’ original bill.

The Senate proposed adding such an appeal and the Liberals agreed to that and several other amendments late last week.”

      thanks

      • Just think – soon a convicted terrorist can stay on the dole the way he would in Britain.

        Hoorah!

These radical lefties haven’t figured out how hard the pendulum will swing back.

    • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

It won’t likely swing back. Currently, justhine is still in majority territory if an election was to be held today. This means that there are way too many dumbass people out there not having a clue what the libs are doing to this country, either in the here and now, nor the future consequences of those actions. For freedom’s sake, the only way out of this is for the country to split apart. There is far too much arrogance coming out of these elite goober politicians from the east.

      • Clink9

Uuum. The West is looking pretty freaking scary too.

        • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

We want out from under all this socialist crap constantly being shoved down our throats.

          • Clink9

            I’ve wanted out since 1968.

Some councils in Britain have been using planning regulations to block any new fast food outlets near schools.

Oh good, now the young boys at school won’t be distracted by snacks, as they are being taught to be little faggots like feminist Trudeau. And the girls can learn to have abortions and be lesbians.

Hey, Justine have you considered a C$1 per ounce ‘sin tax’ for sugar-containing drinks? Just like Chicago and Cook County is about to implement but theirs is only only at a 1¢ per ounce rate. It could be just like theirs, and includes zero calorie diet drinks and yet exclude ‘heathy sugar’ laden 100% juices like pre grape and apple juices.

I wonder if the brilliant people in government have any clue as to the shifting viewing habits of those darned kids? My 13 and 16 year olds do not watch TV. A few of their friends will watch a bit. Mainly they watch Netfix and You-Tube and other streaming ops. My older boy gets his news online from places like The Guardian (yes, I know, but what can you do and it makes for lively dinner conversation). I fear that the MSM simply does not touch their lives and if you got rid of advertising for “junk food” on MSM it would make no difference.

Now, they are savvy shoppers and when the Micky D’s 2:1 Big Mac coupons come in the mail we’re on our way. As that happens twice a year I am pretty ok with the junk food consumption around here even without the Guidance of our Health Canada nannies.

Provincial heath services are already restricting choices in hospitals in regard to what drinks are on offer. If you want a full sugar, original Coca Cola …you are out of luck. All that is available are limited juices, flavored water, and diet versions of soda with either aspartame or sucralose replacing the sugar. However if you want to put 20 packets of sugar into a cup of coffee, have at it.
