Restaurant stops serving halal meat in ‘stand against UK becoming Sharia state’

A tapas restaurant has outraged some customers by announcing it will no longer stock halal meat.

El Molino in Hedon stated on its Facebook page halal meat will no longer be served because “before long no one will have any choice and we’ll be living in a Sharia state”.

Some customers have been outraged by the stance, which they say is effectively telling Muslims they are not welcome at the restaurant.

Owner of the restaurant Ben Fisher, disagrees that it is barring Muslims and says the decision was based on customers asking about the origin of the meat.

I hope enough people support him that he is able to stick to his guns. This is an effective way to try to reverse the Islamization of our societies – a little at a time, which is how Islam got such a hold in the first place: it didn’t happen overnight. So to counter Islam creep, anti-Islam creep, as it were.

    • Think global act local;)

After the 2015 election I said that I am not going to vote anymore in Canadian elections (my vote never counted anyways). I would go and vote for candidate of the party whose leader will say: “We would ban halal meat in Canada and those who don’t like that will be provided with a one-way ticket to the country of their choice after they give up their Canadian citizenship or residency.”

He is doing his part in the most important thing that must be done, stopping the accomodating and appeasing.

Are muslim restaurants similarly harangued about not serving non halal meat?

  • Watchman

The correct response of any restauranteur in a similar situation is to say, “I’m a believer in animal rights and the humane slaughtering of animals for meat. I’m unable to stock Halal meat because I believe animals must be stunned before being killed.”

    • Justin St.Denis

I was going to post the same thoughts. One must think strategically in order to be genuinely effective.

And if he can work “sustainability” into the explanation, Millenials will weep with joy

    • A valid tactic.

    • Jaedo Drax

Well you could also claim that your religious beliefs have a prohibition against ritually killed meat, i.e. Kutha Meat.

    • bargogx1

The flip side of that is, restaurateurs who claim to believe in animal rights, yet serve halal meat, should be called out on their hypocrisy, as well as any animal rights groups who stay silent on the issue.

It doesn’t seem to work for women who are allowed to be beaten by their husbands if the husband just fears disobedience: the feminist groups don’t seem to care at all.

Oh, ‘dumb animals’ not ‘women’, so you’re right, there is a good chance that there will be significant support for this animal rights halal hypocrisy campaign, unlike one for muslim women. /sarc

I think you may have finally found a viable use for PETA.

  • Blacksmith

I really hope the locals support this restaurant.

  • What took him so long?

Ismael Ibrahim, halal butcher: “Halal is no worse than slaughter by English butchers.”
British Veterinary Association, Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Farm Animal Welfare Committee, Humane Slaughter Association, Federation of Veterinarians of Europe: “Scientific evidence shows that slaughter without pre-stunning allows animals to feel pain and compromises animal welfare”
I’ll go with the BVA, RSPCA, FAWC, HSA and FVE.

Halal compliance necessarily funds Muslim terrorists. To be non-halal is to be not-pro-Islamic terror.

  • BillyHW

Don’t worry folks, Justine and his army of women voters are going to make Halal meat mandatory in every restaurant in Canada soon.

  • bargogx1

This guy gets it – no accomodations, no appeasement. Those opposing him and prattling on about how it’s awful because it tells Muslims they’re not welcome don’t get it. Muslims are welcome, just as long as they don’t expect any accomodation or appeasement.
The fact that he states it’s difficult to find some meat products that are non-halal just goes to show that things have gone way too far. Good for him for doing something to try to turn back the tide.

How long till he is arrested for a hate crime?

  • Barrington Minge

What is the problem? Civilised people do not eat “halal” meat.

  • John Candor

Islam is cancer. Excise it or it excises you.

  • Maggat

Good on him. Small steps and possibly we can turn the tide, here’s hoping.

  • A Hamilton Guy

I’d starve before I’ll eat that shit! Goood on him. Nothing like throwing a pkg. of bacon in the halal section.

  • Richard French

    Don’t they serve vegetables?
