The Paris Agreement: Two Different Approaches

While Trump may withdraw from an agreement that does not guarantee less pollution, Canada has a different approach:

As the U.S. flirts with fleeing the Paris climate-change accord, Canada is aligning itself with the world’s other two largest economies to take a global leadership role in the effort to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

Environment Minister Catherine McKenna would only say Wednesday that Canada remains committed to the Paris Accord, refusing to speculate about U.S. President Donald Trump’s musings about withdrawing from the agreement.

“Canada’s just going to keep marching on, like the rest of the world,” McKenna told an event in Toronto.

Yes, Canada under the Liberals is going to keep marching on towards towards national destruction and suicide. That is not something to brag about.

  • Bla Bla

Marching right off the cliff! Forward soviet!

  • Clausewitz

Off topic, but it certainly didn’t take the left long to start the Scheer is Hitler campaign. This should be a post of it’s own. Most of the reasons listed I see as a reason why I would vote for him.

    • Clausewitz

As to the question at the end, my answer is “YES”.

      • Linda1000

Oh, Canadians absolutely want Scheer’s new and better road.

    • Alain

Those are all positives in spite of the twisted wording used. The only one I am not strong on is what is called the war on drugs. As it exists and has existed it is pretty much a failure. Then again I don’t think resources should be waste to “safe” those who chose to OD and certainly not the free shoot-up places.

The War On Drugs is a complex thing.

        • Alain

My point is that in spite of all the money thrown at it, it has never worked, so time for a different approach. Nor did prohibition work. Otherwise I am some what neutral on the subject.

            I understand your point.
I don’t know how to solve it, either.
            And you are right.
For instance, Saskatchewan giving out millions of needles a year endangers children who find them in playgrounds with used condoms in the spring.

    • Do we want to go down this road?

      Hell, yes.

    • morb

what is a neutered ombudsman? an ombudstranswoman?

  • Exile1981

thats a puffin not a penguin.

  • Exile1981

Canada is following the lemmings off the cliff. Though in this case Turdeau, attempting to by liked by the ‘cool kids’ merkel and macarroon has decided to take the role of the disney exec and toss the lemmings off the cliff.

Apparently trump’s plan is to get out of the treaty so he can claim he kept his promise and then he plans to get back into a “new” version of it. He is a betrayer. He lied to his followers
