Putin Claims That Missile Systems in the US and South Korea Threaten Russia

It should be noted that the former Soviet Union aided Kim Il-Sung during the Korean War, that the Soviet Army raped Korean women and that Russia has used its permanent seat on the UN Security Council to let North Korea get away with belligerence:

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that elements of a U.S. anti-missile system in Alaska and South Korea were a challenge to Russia and that Moscow had no choice but to build up its own forces in response.

Putin, speaking at an economic forum in St Petersburg, said Russia could not stand idly by and watch while others increased their military capabilities along its borders in the Far East in the same way as he said had been done in Europe.

He said Moscow was particularly alarmed by the deployment of the U.S. THAAD anti-missile system to South Korea to counter a North Korean missile threat and to reported U.S. plans to beef up Fort Greely in Alaska, a launch site for anti-ballistic missiles.

“This destroys the strategic balance in the world,” Putin told a meeting with international media, the start of which was broadcast on state TV.

“What is happening is a very serious and alarming process. In Alaska, and now in South Korea, elements of the anti-missile defence system are emerging. Should we just stand idly by and watch this? Of course not. We are thinking about how to respond to these challenges. This is a challenge for us.”

Washington was using North Korea as a pretext to expand its military infrastructure in Asia in the same way it had used Iran as a pretext to develop a missile shield in Europe, charged Putin.

“This destroys the strategic balance in the world,”

Russia and the Soviet Union allowing North Korea and Iran to produce nuclear weapons and ICBMs destroyed the strategic balance, so STFU.

    • (standing ovation)

    • FactsWillOut

The west allowing the Pakis to make nuclear weapons is also not good.
The Pakistanis are way worse than the Iranians, and the saudis, who just got 100 billion worth of weapons from the US are worse yet.
A regime change would probably work in Iran and NK, but the only regime changes the west like are changes to Sunni Islam jihadist regimes.
Non-proliferation should be a matter of force, not treaties.

    1. There is no such place as the Soviet Union, hasn’t been for almost 3 decades.
    2. Russia’s culture is not terminally polluted by PC.
    3. The west, NATO, and their leaders have attempted to fob of millions of Muzz on the west, acted as Islams enforcer, creating havens like Libya and Kosovo for Muzz, and make it a domestic crime to criticize Islam.
    4. Russia has Christianity as a state religion, with none of the cultural Marxist BS that has infiltrated the Vatican, the Anglican, and most other western Christian sects.

Ergo, I’m rooting for the Russians, as they are much less of a threat to us than our own leaders are.

    • 1. Which is why I said “former Soviet Union”
      2. Russians do not believe in gun rights, freedom of speech, separation of Church and State
      3. stop bringing Islamism into a discussion about whether or not sovereign republics like South Korea and the US should arm themselves, particularly against communist dictatorships
      4. there should be no state religion. As Russia will be converted one day (as Our Lady of Fatima promised), your final points and laughable and moot
      5. learn Russian and live in Russia (formerly known as the Soviet Union)

      • FactsWillOut

        Again:
Russia does not support global jihad like the west does.
Russia is not infected with PC like the west is.
Russia is a white, Christian nation.

The west doesn’t believe in gun rights, with the exception of the USA.
The west does not believe in freedom of speech, with the same exception.
The “separation of Church and state” is a BS lie made up by leftards.

        • Again:

          – don’t bring up Islamism as a deflection of Russian domestic and foreign policy. Putin is attempting to excuse his military build-up as a response to American and Korean self-defense measures
          – Russians will NEVER have a blog like this. Let that sink in.
-the West DOES believe in Church and State (SEE: Constitution), it just doesn’t practise it that well. It must be all that Soviet Marxist influence.

          • FactsWillOut

            1. Tell me where, in the Constitution, it says that the Church and the State are separated.
            2. Russians don’t need a blog like this, because they aren’t PC.
            3. Freedom of Speech is just an part of economic freedom, something both the Russians and Chinese enjoy to a greater extent than we do. They just outlawed sedition.

          • 1. The First Amendment
            2. You’ve missed the point about freedom of speech. And, yes – the Russians need a BCF. Every country needs one.
            3. How many Russian and Chinese bloggers have never been arrested?

          • FactsWillOut

The 1A does not say that religion and the state are separate.
How many Russians and Chinese have been arrested for making a living is the question you should be asking. The fact is, its a lot less than Canadians or Americans.
Broads think that shooting their mouth off is just as important as being able to feed themselves.

          • Yes, the Constitution DOES say that.

You’re not addressing the lack of basic freedoms in Russia and China, nor did you address why South Korea and the US shouldn’t arm themselves or why Putin is paranoid about them but not attentive to the problems in his own country.

Now, you can continue being childish or you can come up with some answers.

          • FactsWillOut

            The US is armed.
            SK can arm itself.

Please show me the quote of the Constitution that says the Church and the State are separated. I couldn’t find it in the 1A.

          • I’m not doing your research for you. Use your masculine brain and eyes for that.

Russia does not want the US nor South Korea to be armed. Putin has already used this as a pretext for spending Russian cash on the failed dream of reviving the Soviet Empire.

Not that this means anything to you.

          • FactsWillOut

There never was a Soviet Empire, ever.
There was a Russian one, though, before the Soviets took over.
I have no problem with a Russian Empire, and a British one, and a Canadian one, for that matter.
            Empire is good.

          • I see that you’ve slept through much of the twentieth century.

…and arguing with a woman again bears fruit.

      • FactsWillOut

Oh, and there’s no such thing as Islamism.
There is Islam, and its adherents, called Muslims.

        • Guess what I get to say?

          Whatever I want.

You could define Islamism as the political movement of Islam.

  • Norman_In_New_York

It looks like Putin’s investment in Trump is going belly up.

    • FactsWillOut

It also looks like Trump getting foreign nations to ante-up for their own defense is also going belly-up.
