Torture, rape, executions: Iraq to investigate reported atrocities of Mosul liberators

The Iraqi Interior Ministry said that it will investigate a report by Der Spiegel magazine, which accused the country’s elite US-backed military unit of murder, torture and rape of civilians during the operation against Islamic State terrorists in Mosul.

“The interior minister ordered investigators to conduct a clear and fair inquiry… (and) to take legal measures against those who are negligent if the investigation proves so,” the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

Uhm… I think these are our allies….

Torture is a rich and vibrant thread that runs through all Arab cultures.
Besides, aren’t we supposed to respect and preserve the traditions of these ancient cultures?

    • Maurice Miner

Absolutely! We cannot impose our “protected” Western whitey moral codes and expectations upon others – diversity is our strength as you know!

DBN (Pissed By Midday), please put another “Coexist” sticker on your Subaru’s bumper, and you will be exonerated of all sins, and signal to other like-minded peeps that you are de bomb! [figuratively, not literally]

I think you missed his point.

        • Maurice Miner

No, DBN and I go way back, and pull each other’s chains occasionally! We both completely agree 99.99% of the time.

Ah, good to know. Once again the limitations of the internet makes things appear as they are not.

Seriously, what do they expect? You get back what you dish out. If you read accounts of the war in North Africa in WW11, It was about as civilized as a war gets. Burma and eastern Europe where a whole other story. Same combatants one one side, different on the other.

Der Spiegel Heuchler would be a more realistic name.
Hardly any monsters on the left or in terroristic islam despite their huge numbers ever fall below DSH’s very low standards for barbaric conduct. For all others, the slightest blemish in their conduct is a world crisis and doubtless America’s fault if you only dig deep enough.
