Will President Trump’s Visit to Saudi Arabia Tackle Terrorism and Promote Religious Freedom?

As part of his first official trip abroad at the end of May, U.S. President Donald Trump will visit Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy and Brussels, Belgium.

According to a statement released by the White House, Trump’s meetings with King Salman and other key figures “will reaffirm the strong partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia and allow the leaders to discuss issues of strategic concern, including efforts to defeat terrorist groups and discredit radical ideologies.”

The goal may be commendable, but it is hardly attainable in a country like Saudi Arabia, ruled politically by an absolute monarchy and theologically by Wahhabism, both immensely radical.

BREAKING NEWS FROM CNN! CNN is reporting that the vice president by accident, slapped a young boy on the head while talking to people. The bastard! And what about the two scoops of ice cream the president gets? Will the atrocities never end.

We had to ally ourselves with Stalin to win World War II. The Saudi rulers may stand for everything antithetical to our values, but at least they want to die of natural causes. Accordingly, we may have to keep them as an ally until we have wiped out those loonies seeking an Islamic Gotterdaemerung. Meanwhile, Trump is taking steps to drill for more energy so the Saudis couldn’t reward our protection with oil blackmail.

    • The Saudis can be cavalier because they know no one will ever punish them.

      It’s time to nuke Mecca.

At least turn the other way when Iran gets annoyed with them.

It would be cool if one of the Nork nukes could be hacked and sent to Mecca. Win, win.

I’ve read that the Saudis could eventually be in real trouble if the price of oil stays where it is.
OPEC is now just a supper club instead of a cartel.
And if Venezuela collapses and gets its act together even more oil will make it to market.

My feeling is it would be karma if both Mecca,Medina, Tehran and Qom got irradiated.

I believe the Saudis are our biggest threat. There is plenty of evidence that they are the ones financing the jihad against the west, including the 9/11 attack. They are also the ones financing the construction of mosques all over the west.

That is as realistic as believing the so-called palestinians are willing to live in peace with Israel.

  • Dana Garcia

I would be happy if Trump ended the special deal, started under Bush, that brings thousands of obnoxious Saudi students to US colleges.

There’s too much money in it for the universities.

      • Alain

All the more reason to end it.

Yep, full tuition checks make administrators drool.
