Bad Think: Evil white male editor quits after sparking faux outrage for suggesting ‘Appropriation Prize’ in writers’ magazine

Bad white male found guilty of Bad Think.

Hal Niedzviecki has resigned as editor of the Writers’ Union of Canada magazine after sparking outrage with an opinion piece titled “Winning the Appropriation Prize” in an issue devoted to indigenous writing.

In it, he states that he doesn’t believe in “cultural appropriation.” “In my opinion, anyone, anywhere, should be encouraged to imagine other peoples, other cultures, other identities.” Niedzviecki, who has been the editor of Write for about five years, later wrote: “Set your sights on the big goal: Win the Appropriation Prize.”

In the same editorial, Niedzviecki goes on to note that most Canadian literature is written by people who are “white and middle-class,” and exhorts those same white, middle-class writers to look outside of their own community and write about “what you don’t know” in an effort to “explore the lives of people who aren’t like you.”

Canada – the land of petty outrage.

Progressives main claim to fame is a total and complete lack of Empathy. This comes with their derangement in everything.

I hope to live long enough to see liberals burn books and outlaw literacy

the ghost of Oswald Spengler lurking somewhere to check if the future people wonder why would anybody read and write?

They are already burning books, in a way, by persecuting dissidents, bullyin conservatives, or, in this case, leftists eating their own. Th e ongoing fascism in arts and social sciences signals the decline of these areas. That’s fine with me.

I mean, how many people actually read Writer’s magazine?

Don’t piss off the tolerant left, the progressive establishment. They have no sense of humor and if you go against them your career is toast.

Divide politics. Just a tool of Communism. Joel Peterson has a lot to say about it

most Canadian literature is written by people who are “white and middle-class,”
    – as are most of the people who read it. Dickens wrote about the underclass of Victorian England, but his subscribers were middle class.

It seems that the Writers Union of Canada is a far-left organization. I guess the name “Union”, rather than “Society” or “Association”, should have been a giveaway.

But they had better be careful. They are not a closed shop, meaning Canadian novelists are not obliged to be members. If the union appears hostile to those with middle-of-the-road political beliefs then they risk losing membership.

This is what you get when you let the radicals become the master. Sooner or later you just wont be “Radical” enough. See the Cultural Revolution in Chine for the Consequences.

This story is a fine example of a struggle session. They did everything but hang a sign around Niedzviecki’s neck.

Canada – the land of petty outrage, and low intellect obviously. Look who got elected prime minister.
    Just sayin’

All brown people who write in English are appropriating OUR culture, and that must end.
Let’s burn their books until they only speak and write in their native language.
If your native language has a “rich oral tradition” (not a written language) then you are limited to live performances doing recitals of your work.
